I have feeling that a dedicated thread in the activa section should be created... Maybe one for discussing the process and then one for the process and a list of what's needed? Helps make it easier for future converters and such?

It's been a while but today I finally got some spanner action Not on my cars but daughter Sian's little Pixo. It was badly in need of a good service so it got one...

It wasn't running well and starting was a bit off. I thought a new set of plugs might fix it and indeed they did

The only downside is the little 3 pot engine uses some pretty special plugs that cost nearly £20 EACH from our local factors Good job it only need three... The old set only lasted 10K

I also replaced the badly worn wipers.

I noticed too the tyres have almost had it. They've gone a bit hard and are well worn after only 10K .

One thing I do know from experiencing the superficially similar Pixo is that the C1 is far and away the better car in every respect. I just hope it carries plugs and tyres a bit better...

I would think you will get over 20k front and 50k rear from the c1 and I changed my plugs at 30k and they were still a good colour and hardly worn. IIRC I put in denso plugs and they were less than 20 quid for the 3 if not less than a tenner.

Sian's Pixo is all done now... I reinitialised the engine ECU to resolve a low and lumpy idle. It was easy, just disconnect the battery, leave it off for a while and then reconnect. Switch on all lights and ignition but don't start for at least a minute. Job done...

Yesterday I washed it. The car was filthy and growing moss. It now looks lovely, I couldn't wash the Pixo without washing my C1 and the V6 so I now have three sparking cars here. I also took the C1 and V6 out for warming runs...

I very much confirmed the C1 really is the much better car. It felt very refined and good after the Pixo...

I've booked the Pixo into the local Nissan Main Stealer for a safety recall to replace a duff thermal fuse on the heater blower...

Me: "Yesterday"
Stealer: "By whom?"
Me: "Me"
Stealer : "What's your qualifications to permit you to service a Nissan?"
Me: "I'm a Citroen Specialist"
Stealer "Oh..... OK..."

Sian's Pixo has has had it's safety recall work done. Robyn collected me from the stealer and we spent the day together which was rather good.. I took an opportunity to service her 207 despite the finger-numbing cold and I'm glad I did. The oil level was so low it was not registering on the dipstick...

Not much came out of the sump when it was drained either...

The MOT is due up on the 207 next month so I gave it a pre-MOT and found all four tyres were barely legal... It now has four new tyres... Whilst they were being fitted I was advised the car has a broken rear spring...

That's a job for another day... Hopefully a warmer one!!! I may well let the MOT man do it as part of the MOT test...

Sian was pleased with the work on her Pixo but was less happy about the radio being tuned to Radio 4 and nothing else. I did an ECU reset which involved a battery disconnect. The radio lost all stations and the only one I reset was Radio 4...

Team WFA are having a works outing in April. We're off to the Citroen Conservatoire in Paris. It promises to be a wonderful road trip and a big adventure.. I'm really looking forward to it

Last week has been expensive. Not only did I treat Robyn to a full tank of petrol (cheap at Asda for 103p per litre) and a set of tyres I also had to pay for a passport renewal at 72 quid My last one expired in 2007 and I need one now for the WFA French adventure...
