Neil, would I be right in thinking you came across that image while researching streamlined trains in the 1939 american railroads? If I am right there is a spooky link here because the picture after that one is of Amtrak's Empire Builder which is the train I took on my trip across the USA! Spooky! :)
Now back to finding the car!!

Yes Yes Yes.....the image is a "coloured one" and the Streamlined train behind it, LA if I recall, was just awesome.

So it's a 1936 Willys Saloon 77, I'll just put up this picture of a real one:

Thats the one Mick, I like it when a loose end is tied up. Are you still on the case of Barry Cade?

Yes I am, no luck at Kempton Park last week, I emailed the back copies dept in Peterborough but had no reply, but I refuse to use anti-social media as it takes the fun out of the search!! So more boot sales and jumbling as ebay is too easy and gives no satisfaction!! :-D

What are you saying Chris? Surely colour coded wheels and contrasting fenders were things of great beauty in those days?

As we've been diverted to All our yesterdays we have no picture of the day so I thought it was time to ask if you've ever come across these facilities in an open to all waiting room?:

We had an unusual visitor to the garden this morning but I couldn't get a decent picture as I only had the phone to hand, but I got this and I think I know what it is but a confirmation would be good? :) (Click on to enlarge) I did take a short video but I don't know how to show an MP4 file?

I would say that that looks like a male sparrowhawk Mick. If your garden backed onto kielder forest then the much bigger Goshawk would possibly come into the equation.

I think if I was a sparrowhawk, I wouldnt bother chasing killing and eating small birds and pigeons around the countryside, I would move into the suburbs and just eat my fill from bird tables and feeders, and if I needed a decent feed the easily caught woodpigeon/ or collared dove would be my meal of choice.

SWMBO saw the kill which was just off our patio. The Hawk then dragged the pigeon up the lawn to the bird water bowl, dropped the head into the water and stood on top apparently drowning the pigeon. Neither of us have ever seen a bird of prey do that before so we wondered if it was a young Goshawk because we see sparrow hawks regularly and have never seen that behaviour. Our road is only 150 yards from large wooded area which covers 7 or 8 square miles so we do have a lot of woodland birds here anyway. I do have the mp4 video clip if anyone thinks it would help a positive ID. :?: :? :)

One sighting recorded by the Hertfordshire Bird Club in 2019, so you could be right Mick, but quite a rarity.

Wed 7 Aug 2019 Maple Cross [TQ025923] 1 Goshawk, 3pm female juvenile Goshawk flew over the house (Chris Bessant)

Sun 11 Mar 2018 Hartham (Hertford) [TL331138] 1 Goshawk (Jim Coote)

Sun 4 Feb 2018 Benington, 1 Goshawk, 1st year male flew South East at 10am.

You could email the Herts rare birds panel Mick with your pic. I suspect they will be interested if there is enough there to get a proper ID for a more expert eye.
