If I won the lottery I'd have to get my hands on a 1960s Mercedes SL

Spot on, a clue for Dr No may not have been entirely accurate as that was a Series II version, which some with more extensive knowledge may have picked up on

In the book the article says Bond used a Hillman Minx!

Re: Interiors and Dashboards (interesting and awful!)
Now this is a proper dashboard - no poncy rev counter, fiddly toggle switches just a proper clock, a set of useful guages and knobs!!! Perfick!!!!

Nah ! That clock face looks far too modern for my liking. I think it'd be better with roman numerals on it
Perhaps the speedo should just have 2 markings on it - 'Adequate' and 'Too Fast'

Even a clock with two hands is too modern. I prefer a clock face with a gnomon.

Re: Interiors and Dashboards (interesting and awful!)
This brings back memories. One of the first vehicles I drove, round a field up at Dunc's, a friend of mine who always seemed to have old cars/vans/motorbikes/tractors around for a bit of off-road entertainment.

One of these
