C2 VTR sensodrive - I love it!!!!!! It's absolutely unmarked inside and out, although dirty right now. It will be washed and photos taken and posted at the weekend. It has the most complete service history I have ever seen, 1st owner had it 4 years, was serviced at supplying dealer at 2 years, 6700 miles, then again at 4 tears and 16000 miles. Then the guy I bought it from had it and serviced at a citroen specialist in Doncaster, every year without fail. Mileage is currently 90500 approx last service in july at 86000. Everything recorded on the invoices, oil, plugs, filters, bulbs, battery, timing belt, tyres, brakes, every mot, all invoices given to me and service book all stamped up. It drives as new, and even smells fresh. The best e-bay car I have ever bought yet, and £500 less than the going rate. When asked why so cheap, answer was he had only been offered £500 for it as a trade in, so he stuck it on e-bay, and I happened to see it and had phoned him 10 mins after it went on and paid a deposit 20 minutes after he listed it. He then had about 10 fone calls before he took it off the next day. Well worth the train fare and the petrol, £50 from Doncaster to home. I think this will be a keeper. He even gave me a HPI check he got done for selling it and put in a brand new set of mats. Cheapo horrid mats, but mats. 2 Goodyear efficientgrips on the front, done 15k and about 1/2 done, 2 budgets on the back only done 5k and still look new. To drive it, if its left to it's own devices in auto, it's slow and ponderous in its gear changes, and I could see it being a bit annoying in towns. However use the flappy paddles, and lift off accelerator as you hit the up paddle the change is instant and much smoother, down changes, sitting at 45 say behind a lorry, hit the down side twice with foot to the floor, and it drops to 3rd and takes off. So best used as a manual then and it's really nippy. I would actually say it would give the c4 a good run for its money. All this fun for a good bit less than a grand! Overall I am happy
The C4 will now do no more mileage until I get a wheel bearing put into it, getting noisier by the mile. I shall now be able to put it to my son-in-law to be who will strip the hub off it and take the hub to his work, I'm quite sure Scotrail engineering department will have a suitable piece of equipment to press out a bearing. Both cars are insured and taxed, so the plan is to use the c2 most of the time and give the c4 a run occasionally until I advertise it in the spring. Then c5 auto will be looked for, by that time I may lose the c2 to my son when he passes his test.
