Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Nice thinking Neil, especially re the coat of arms but maybe this second picture with my lines will show the oddity I noticed. The BS comes from the fact that it is felt that the skyline marked resembles a profile of Bart Simpson laying down!! I didn't see it until it was pointed out to me!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

^^^ other than the foreground roughly mimicing the shape of the background mountains I've nothing to offer Mick.
This is Picture(s) of the Day are there any night owls left who can contribute a picture for today to break the 25th of September's current embarassing duck

That is what I found fascinating!! The tree line really does follow the mountains ups and downs !! I'm in Palma airport on my phone at the moment but I'll try a pic and see what happens!!

Its the orange plane for me tonight. These days I prefer Jet2.com but the flights didn't fit so here I am awaiting the midnight special which is apparently 45 mins late so home for 3.30ish!! Still my mate is a happy chappy with many things fixed and much sangria consumed

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/12170/lot/630/
"The car offered here - ‘NGK 777G’ - was entered by Vantona Everwear Limited (car number ‘71’) and driven by Brian Field, Des Tilley and David Jones, finishing 28th. Its Marathon livery was white with black bonnet, and a crude ‘roo bar’ was fitted at the front.
The car also participated in the 1970 Monte Carlo Rally (Field/Tilley, car number ‘150’, started from Monaco, finished, result unknown)"

..and in breaking news on the 50th Anniversary of the release of Abbey Road.
For Beatles Fans.....what was the best track on "Abbey Road" and does it justify the 50th Anniversary hype?
Thr Pickled Egg Jukebox is the appropriate receptacle for nominations
Regards Neil
For non Beatles fans.....can you name a single track on "Abbey Road" without looking it up?

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Some sort of amalgam of a sparkplug and a brass tap, anchored (or photoshopped) into an in-line hex-bodied tap?
Or not, of course...

It is a spark plug with an variable valve inlet (to allow the mechanic to adjust how much power reaches the spark gap)!

And in case anyone is wondering how to get a plug spanner on it this appears to be the original tool for the job

Not quite - the reverse in fact.Hell Razor5543 wrote: 26 Sep 2019, 17:36 It is a spark plug with an variable valve inlet (to allow the mechanic to adjust how much power reaches the spark gap)!
It's a primer plug from when petrol was not as well developed, you could open the tap and pour some highly volatile fluid into the cylinder that would kick the engine into life where the standard petrol wouldn't ignite in a cold engine - a bit like starting an engine with petrol then running it on paraffin. Or maybe Start Ya Bastard
