Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Update,
Car was collected , my 2 pals took it back to there workshop . Everything is done apart from the flippin master cylinder which gave up the ghost when they were bringing the car back to me ! So they took it back it will be sorted by tomorrow evening .
I was told this can happen if wrong fluid was used .. a green type.
This wasnt my cause, it was the fork & release bearing somehow went awol which as my pals said the vibration due to the bad flywheel caused this to happen, then with some hard pressure on the master cylinder the rubber part which the arm moves through then gets pinched then it will move or twist or crimp & if your pulling the pedal up with your foot and pushing it back down again will not help then this plastic rubbish part fails ! Design fault of the year !

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Hope it will be sorted later today, if i could rig up an old cable type of control i would. Hydralics are ok but the parts have to be so perfectly linned up to where they house too any slight miss alignment will over time wear these plastic parts out , its one cause of the problem it makes sense, ive seen on a Peugeot forum one member have 3 fail in 6 months !

Cable would be so, so much better...

That's shocking and shows what a rotten bit of design and engineering this isHuskyxantia wrote: 18 Nov 2024, 11:09 ive seen on a Peugeot forum one member have 3 fail in 6 months !

Yes almost like making up for such cheap road tax each year. I am thinking hard on a modification i really would like to cable it go old school. Theres always a way of doing things. Check the route get fixings then the clutch pedal might need beefing up a tad, we need Matt ... i reckon this could be done.

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Thrust bearing still ok .
So back in March this year the clutch was slipping , and a judder so it got replaced i didnt want to do the flywheel but had no luck getting one.
2 local factors told me at least 8weeks , so i didnt have the time to wait as this car was needed so bit the bullet & got the job done still hoping the flywheel on the car was good , well it lasted it 15th november so maybe i was lucky but the wallet wasnt.
My pal called me to his workshop 7.30 last night to help bleed the system as the master cylinder went , this took 30 mins , then that was it .
It drives good , no bad judder no noise all ok. So im left now with the old parts as a keep sake lol.

Re: Citroen c3 picasso
Heres something i forgot to mention . The low oil pressure warning at startup has now gone . When my mechanic told me yesterday he said mentioned after everything had been all done they started the car up & the warning wasnt there . I wonder why. Even this morning when i first started it up to check the coolant level & complete the bleeding of the coolant system there was no warning on the dash at all.
Now lets see me ive more than likely jinxed it now .
