I believe it was once rumoured to be reused as an airship mooring point, and Terry Wogan referred to it as the Northampton lighthouse
It is, in fact, the old National Lift Tower - first thought of in the late 1970s and opened in 1982. Grade II listed and has been for some time.

Yep, that's it precisely... The old Express* Lifts test tower... Handy for a navigational reference point when lost in Northampton - as I was this morning due to closed roads for some pesky running event...

* I've always known it locally as the Express Lifts tower but consulting Wikipedia I do indeed see you're right with the official name Robin

Thank you, I have to say it's a nice looking 2 seater but the one I saw looked like it ain't moved in years, I spotted it near Angel tube station London. Last tax disc on screen showed 2015. Great condition considering its 50 years old

I've seen it before, firmly covered. Today the windy weather has lifted the tarpaulin...

I honestly have no idea what it is... Looks nice despite being a bit neglected (flat tyres) and I love the colour and the dash

I'm wondering if it's a Ginetta? I say that as there was once, many years ago, an old orange Ginetta parked in this spot - very much a non-runner and I watched it slowly deteriorate... Maybe the owner of the house is a Ginetta enthusiast?

A quick Google Image search of various Ginettas does not shed any light...

I'm not sure it's Matt's though as this one has only been sitting where I snapped it today for a couple of months or so. I see Matt's posts on Pistonheads date from 2016. Unless Matt has sold it on...

And it's not really being well-loved at present by the looks of it... Tomorrow I'll see if I can get a look at its numberplate but that could be problematical. As it was, I had to zoom in to get the picture...
