I certainly see the benefits of the spoiler on whitebug compared to blackbug. 220 miles at the weekend at work on filthy roads, with a few out of town therefore country lanes deliveries, the car is absolutely filthy and I never had to clean the back window once! So I think it can stay. It just means I can push the car around Tesco and put the groceries straight into the boot

Lilpug as seen in for MOT. Graham is very impressed, it’s in better nick than the 5 year old Bini that failed before it, the Bini at 33000 miles failed on two front wheel bearings, and a bottom ball joint. That’s terrible for a so called quality car. Lilpug failed due to owner stupidity lol. It shall go back for retest in a couple of days and get its pass. It actually failed on no screenwash and headlamp aim. The headlights are now adjusted and screenwash topped up but owner stupidity still applies. I looked at my mot list and just read Peugeot due 3rd March. That’s actually blackbug which is not my problem. Next Peugeot due 14th March. Today is 13th Feb so had it passed I would lose a month mot! So Graham suggested that he fail of and get a retest later in the week. I’m happy enough at that Mind you, the chances are when I hit submit I will get failed for turning his garage onto its side

I have to say that I'm starting to like the spoiler on these now to the point they look strange without it. I really think it adds to the cute cartoon looks!

Agreed As cartoon and as quirky as the BX 'Babywalker' spoiler...

I wonder if they're available as an accessory - I bet Robyn would love one for her C1...

As far as I am aware they are a genuine citroen/peugeot accessory. They are also readily available on EBay, you may even find one in the right colour. It appears to be held on with some sort of adhesive and the bolts of the rear hatch/window.

Davie diid you see the post on Autoshite from a chap who's bought a 107 with 200K miles for about £1300 as a stop gap? I believe he wants to move it on again for the same price in about a week if anyone's interested.

Didn't see that Peter. I wouldn't be buying a 200000 mile one for £1300, I just paid £300 more than that for a 31000 mile one. I'd rather have the accident repaired newer, probably better condition one than the high mileage one. Not that I have any worries about a high mileage one. They are hardy little brutes of things, and if looked after, which blackbug wasn't, they will last. I only paid £700 for my friends 57 plate one with 78000 miles a few months ago. I don't know, maybe cars have got relatively much cheaper up here.

Lilpug has just got her new clean bill of health, no advisories, MOT untill 14th March next year. Had I not have read the date wrong then she would have got that straight away instead of a silly fail for no screenwash and headlamp aim!

That was my thoughts as well, seems a bit steep for a car on 200k. I guess he paid that as it's a case of beggars not being choosers & the seller was in the right place at the right moment. When it comes to selling it on though I can see him struggling to get half that if he wants it gone quickly, of course if he waits long enough surely someone will need it (as opposed to want it).

Does say a lot for the durability though if it's on the original engine & box.

I agree Davie, but does make you think what a bargain you got with yours!
That was a bit annoying about Lilpug, but no harm done really. My mechanic sends me a reminder when any of our cars are due which is obviously in his interest, but also really useful for me. The only downside is the MOT place he uses always puts down lots of advisories for nothing. My old VTS would get a variety of them that would come and go different years without ever being "fixed". The two I nearly always got were indicators discoloured (no the orange hadn't peeled off them and they still looked the correct colour to me!) and wipers could be better (I'm pretty particular about wipers always getting Citroen own make as they last well without streaking). It'll be interesting to see what will happen when they change the MOT to have "Minor Fails".

I think Davie is benefiting from location and perhaps a financial divide, or perceived financial divide between the North and South. £1300 is about as low as it gets for any decent C1/107/Aygo down here, irrespective of miles. I paid £1600 for mine and that had 98k on it, a 5dr with AC. Bloke I bought it off loves them. He reckons he can sell any of them for 1500 quid all day long, and miles simply aren't an issue.

It's good to know miles aren't an issue but then again it does not surprise me they're easily good for in excess of 200K

Yes. I find about Stoke the prices start to get silly going Southward!

I find southpr far north Scotland and northern England seem to be cheaper than here for cars. Even tho everyone says oil is in the doldrums along with fishing the North East Scotland where I live is still seen as a more affluent area and therefore more expensive.

Cars are cheap in Scotland & Cornwall &, to a slightly lesser extent, Wales simply because most people won't travel that far, so the vendor only has a relatively small local market.
