Re: Whatsthisthen?
You are spot on Neil, which is no great surprise, the bigger one is that I was there
. Seriously I was chauffeuring SWMBO to light a candle for her older sister who is terminally ill in hospital in Cairns. SWMBO is having a bit of a hard time at the moment as being post-op herself she cannot go and visit so anything that helps is fine by me
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Whatsthisthen?
Another day, another church...
I can't remember where this was taken. As the church clock shows the time I should be able to work it out by looking at my Garmin GPX track...
It's a bit of a lovely one and is in Suffolk...
I can recall seeing the photographer and it being quite a big village, possibly a small town, and very pretty...

Got it
As a clue, the name of this place could be a bit feminine
It surely is pretty...

Excellent Jim, I enjoy a delve, and may have come up with it. Haven’t done a visual match, but the clue fitsCitroJim wrote: 24 Apr 2023, 15:07 Got itAs a clue, the name of this place could be a bit feminine

Re: Whatsthisthen?
I think the castle is easier than it might appear, If I'm right you need to be looking in the sort of area where Lynx Engineering -the Jaguar converters did their stuff see the link to AR Online on the Estates thread. Not the normal view of the castle but quite an iconic one...if I am right of course.
So anyone going to have a go...Where's this then

Re: Whatsthisthen?
I suggested Warwick Castle on the estates thread which is a TOTH guess as it looks similar IIRC!!

Re: Whatsthisthen?
If you follow the clue Mick in the ARonline link you end up at St Leonards-on-Sea. Famous in FCF circles for being the home ground of Malcolm (Citronut). You then ask yourself what is the most iconic castle in that particular County....and you come up with the one I did.mickthemaverick wrote: 25 Apr 2023, 22:14 I suggested Warwick Castle on the estates thread which is a TOTH guess as it looks similar IIRC!!![]()

Re: Whatsthisthen?
The silence is deafening. Spoiler un-spoilerised, go and have a drone flight around one of England's most iconic castles. Minimum effort required, just sit in the armchair and click.NewcastleFalcon wrote: 26 Apr 2023, 11:10 Answer in the spoiler
Spoiler/Spoiler
Bodiam Castle, East Sussex the normal give-away view is this of course, but the approach is up hill

Re: Whatsthisthen?
One of the cars at Thruxton today had us a little bemused, it looks like an E-Type at first but the more you look at it the less that seems right. The main issues are with the nose which I didn't actually get a picture of but here are the couple I did get, any suggestions?
I have found out now but well worth a dig!!
