Another option would be to divert the current output of new vehicles, from all the makes in the group, from fulilling new car orders to replacing cars which have been affected as short term loans and then resume supply to dealers when they have filled that gap

PS I just checkef and Stellantis produce approximately 22000 vehicles a day!! Admittedly that probably includes vans but temp transport is exactly that!!

My daughter, the one with the C3, now has to stop driving for three months due to a change in medication. Looks like my car will be getting a lot of use from next week.

Mine and my partners DS3's have been recalled due to the airbag issue but can't be fixed for nearly a month and this leaves us with no car as it's a do not use recall.

So far Citroen are refusing to provide a curtesy car, has anyone else had any luck?

Our local Evans hallshaw claimed they didn't know howvto make a request for a curtesy car under recall. I spoke to citroen uk recall who told mevits the usual process for booking a car. I was initially given a 4 week lead time but had mine fixed yesterday in under a week, Rotherham area. They're getting small quantities of bags in now. I asked the dealership to email me any communications regards curtesy car updates and then forwarded this on to citroen uk so maybe this helped speed up the process

This story was on our local BBC Look North news at 6.30 pm for the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire areas. One lady I think who might have been in Hull, was told by her dealer it would be January 2026 before they could fit her C3 in for repair. They were filming outside an Evans Halshaw branch who would be the Citroen dealer in Hull so might have been there. A solicitor said if you carry a passenger and they are injured you would be liable. No mention of insurance though.

After this was on the news on Friday, the following Monday it was back on our local news to say the car had now been done and only took a few minutes - the power of bad publicity seems to get things done asap.

Hi having read the comments made about this recall, I have just checked the letter from Citroen Director Technical Quality and Waranty and the sheet from DVSA.
No where in that letter does it say stop driving the vehicle although common sense says dont after you have read the above comments about what can happen.
In my case as a disabled person I need a car as there is no bus service where I live
I booked mine in the day I got the letter but the main dealer cant do it before 1st August and wants it for the whole day not just 2 hrs the letter specifies, I have booked a courtesy car for that day which will cost me £20 insurance.
Something is wrong very wrong .

Did you read the Citroen web page: https://www.citroen.co.uk/maintain/safe ... check.html It seems to indicate that not all of the recalled vehicles are subject to the stop drive notice. Use the VIN checker on that page to be sure.

I have now and yes mine is one where it says stop using it - I think a letter to Citroen is in order

I wonder how many models actually use Takata, surely it can't just be the C3 and DS3. I wonder if any of my C5s run them? Might take one off for a gander at some point.

Historically PSA has mostly used SRS parts from Autoliv (Swedish manufacturer). I didn't know they had any stuff from Takata before this recall.

Also Takata went bankrupt about ten years ago due to the massive recalls. It was a real mess, don't know how they are operating now.
