Re: Takata Airbag Recall Documentary
Well just had a follow up letter stating STOP DRIVING ALERT.
Confused my C4 was booked in for Friday 6th Nov, was told it was precautionary measure.
Got letter in yesterday called the Stelantis customer care number, told in no uncertain terms DO NOT DRIVE the car, I explained was booked in, told it must be collected on a trailer and not driven!
I played dumb and asked well what if that as my only car, we may me able to offer a courtesy car, i asked if any costs yes you will have to pay insurance premium. Then advised courtesy cart may not be available. Declined the offer as not paying out for this.
Has anyone else received a DO NOT DRIVE notice?

Re: Takata Airbag Recall Documentary
Never. But neither have I, or do I drive any car listed on the defect pages.
Given the defective air bags can cause death, I would be inclined to book a trailer. Or rig up a small ratchet strap over the steering wheel in such a way it did not interfere with the action of the steering wheel and proceed with caution. That could be difficult! I'd take the trailer.

Re: Takata Airbag Recall Documentary
Thanks for the links
What I do not understand its clear this has been a VERY long running global issue, whey then did Citroen issue me a recall letter in Sept 2026 stating this was a precautionary measure? When I booked it in was told no rush just get it in when you can.
Now suddenly its the most dangerous thing on earth and cant be touched? I fail to see given the LONG history how the advice and position of Citroen changed, surely should have been immediate DO NOT DRIVE notice, I have covered many miles in this car believing it was just a precautionary measure and posed no risk.
Very annoyed at the way this has been handled

An 'eejit' in admin has just noticed, and panic'd. Covering backsides. "Something might happen! - Then DO something!" And 'something' has been done.
It's the way of our present world.
Needless to say, no-one is going to say: "It will be fine, just take it along to your nearest Citroen outlet" - (hence the DO NOT DRIVE notice) - because then they will be culpable in the event it goes 'bang' on the way. They have put the 'ball' in your court.
