Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
2 separate things here:
Firmware = System Software / Operating System
Map Updates = Sold separately and updates only the maps.
The Micro SD Card is partitioned for the operating system, the navigation maps, media and other files.
Mirascripts in the context of the MicroSD card replacement guide is only specifically for copying the user data from the Card in case it is necessary to restore it after a firmware upgrade that may erase this data. It does not copy any other data from the card.
You will need to reinstall your maps afterwards from your original source or purchase a map update to reinstall the maps. We suggest a 16Gb card as later maps can be quite large - especially if installing Europe, so either install only the country that you need or replace the card with a bigger one if you want additional countries.
Firmware updating has no impact on and nothing to do with updating Navigation Maps.
Normally if just updating the firmware, it would not touch the maps and these would continue to work properly.
However, if you are as a separate procedure replacing the MicroSD card, then of course this process is going to wipe all the data and delete, then recreate new partitions before it installs the Operating System, hence the mapping data will have been deleted when the partition was deleted and recreated.

Brilliant! That clarifies everything perfectly and removes all doubt in my mind. Thank you, Marc.GiveMeABreak wrote: 25 Feb 2025, 14:26 2 separate things here:

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
... and to answer you other query sent via PM, I only sent you version 2.80 as a zip file, so when you say the CD is unreadable I assume you're referring to the official V2.86 firmware CD purchased from Peugeot; is so, then it should be absolutely fine, unless it has become damaged since opening it - contrary to the manufacturer hype, these are highly susceptible to scratches and damage just from being handled. Insert into the system when t he vehicle is running and it should offer to update - unless you are going to go with the V2.80 I sent that is file based - but decide as you can't downgrade later.
Windows guaranteed will place a load of system files, (hidden or otherwise on the USB), so using my batch file will remove these.

Just sent you some more PM's to explain what I've tried.GiveMeABreak wrote: 26 Feb 2025, 13:56 ... and to answer you other query sent via PM, I only sent you version 2.80 as a zip file, so when you say the CD is unreadable I assume you're referring to the official V2.86 firmware CD purchased from Peugeot; is so, then it should be absolutely fine, unless it has become damaged since opening it - contrary to the manufacturer hype, these are highly susceptible to scratches and damage just from being handled. No. I did mean the 2.80 CD I wrote.
I think I shall run your script on the 2.80 firmware USB I've made and see if that now resolves the ongoing issue of non-recognition.
EDIT: Just tried running the Sys Vol script on the USB and it's still not recognised. I'll try it again later maybe with the initial USB I wrote.

100% - I shouldn't need to alter the block allocation size. Currently 16kb from memory. Should I set it to default allocation size?

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
We don't supply maps here, so please don't ask for them as these are chargeable via Citroen's Navigation Store:

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
Marc has stepped away from the forum for a while but I can supply you with a link to my copy. It's an ISO so you'll either have to burn it to a CD or use an ISO loader on your (Windows) computer to copy the files to a USB stick. It's only 80Mb so you don't need a large capacity stick.
Check your PM in a short while.

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
Hiya, i'm struggling with my dead RT6 just now. Very hesitant to make the jump from my v2.75 to the dreaded v2.86. Is there a known good v2.77 or v2.80 .iso available anywhere by chance? Thanks in advance.

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
Hey Paul, Update to my efforts.
I have tried your v2.80 (thanks again) on new 8gb USBs formatted to FAT32 & new CDs with new FAT32 8gb and 16gb micro sd cards. It either ejects the new CD, or continues the same CD eject noise and nothing on the screen apart from the backlight when I try a USB. Begining to think the boot process doesn't even get that far as to call for the CD, USB, or SD cards. Do you know of anything it accesses before these that would force the system to default to this CD eject cycle? When I contacted a repair shop about this they said it was a software issue and they could not assist.
Apologies if I am off topic for this rant
