Hi Mick. Yes. I did read your earlier comments. I guess these Topcon units are a bit more robust than a Lexia in build quality.

And I'm very happy with my Xtool D8W.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

No, it will have nothing to do with PP2000, Lexia or Diagbox Ryan - those are the proprietary software designed for PSA vehicles and use the Lexia VCI hardware.Rhothgar wrote: 05 Aug 2024, 09:13 ....This new kit will have proper visuals no doubt but from what I can make out it doesn’t use PP2000.
Has any member got one do you happen to know?
The system Jim is offering has its own software specifically for the VCI of the new system and according to the specific licence you purchase with it.

It's a lot of money, Paul.
Just watched the first video you posted of the D7.
Can I ask where did you buy it from and how much was it and when? I see wildly different pricing on the net from £487 to £893 and beyond. I am not sure Xtool.co.uk is the official UK site though I may be wrong. This would have to be a credit card purchase for me - to ensure suitable protection against scams to be 100% safe.

I think the system Jim is offering as an alternative is £270 with the lifetime Citroen, Peugeot and DS Autos Licence (which excludes the 15% FCF member discount).
Full details here and confirmed, live data and actuator tests:
https://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/produ ... -interface
But note - as per the description this does not work with older vehicles earlier than 2007 and does require Windows 10 64bit, not Windows 11!

I bought mine from Xtool's shop on Aliexpress.Rhothgar wrote: 05 Aug 2024, 11:09It's a lot of money, Paul.

I originally wanted a D8BT but they didn't have any in stock. in fact they said that it had been finished. The D8W uses WiFi instead of Bluetooth and so has better range and speed. But it is more expensive. I was eventually led to Aliexpress's Xtool site and they had the D8W there with a special offer discount (40% or thereabouts I think). I'm always wary of discounts, it's the end price that matters and for me it was $493.55.
USD prices are cheaper than GBP or EUR. The credit card I use offers fee free foreign currency purchases and at that time it offered 1.2422 $/£. That worked out at £397.29. This was more than I originally had planned to spend but it was close to my birthday and I rationalised the extra expense away with that!
This is a latest link on the D8W https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006 ... 1802RnmIaf . The price of US $543.51, using an interbank rate of about 1.28 USD/GBP, gives £424.62. Looking at the advert in the link I see that there's scope for a reduction in price if you can find a discount code or whatever 'coins' are. It's also limited to use in Europe, Russia and the UK. Which doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me.
Interestingly, they also advertise mileage correction as part of the package. Not that I've used it.

Excellent. Thank you for the heads up. I think there is plenty of protection in certain payment methods.
It seems a lot of kit for the money and presumably includes all vehicles to start with for 3 years of updates. I then wonder if you have to keep spending £70 a year per marque with this particular piece of kit.
Been on Xtool website and checked out what read, writing and actuation it can do. It's incredible value really for the amount of functionality.
