Re: X7 disgraces itself with LDS leak AGAIN

I vacillated between buying a single second hand strut to a new repro strut to a new OE strut. I ended up buying a new pair of OE struts for £435.00 delivered so I'm reasonably happy. They say delivery will be on Monday. Then I'll have to hope for good weather to fit them.

Today I'll clean the wheelarch and inside of the road wheel of the oily muck.

Guys - any part requests, please use the official thread, as I may not pick requests up in other posts as I don't have time to read everything fully.

I take it you no longer require strut numbers then Paul - if you do need part numbers, please request here:

When mine went it was the front right (it's usually the right one that goes). No need to replace in pairs unlike conventional dampers and springs.

Too late! A pair have been ordered.

I may take up Mick's idea and see if there's a market for the (so far not leaking) RH strut.

I've had to ask my brother to take over as I'm in hospital again. So, could we have some drawings showing how and where the large undertray panel comes off?

In addition a drawing showing the difference between the two types of gearbox casing would be very helpful to him. Given that the front end is already off the ground I can't see any problem with finishing off draining the oil and then replenishing with a measured correct amount of oil.
