There must be a way to bypass the pin pad ,

Re: My zx estate.
Read the comments to the above video there's mention of fuse to do with the immobiliser being removed and then the car starts normally

Re: My zx estate.
The way with XM's and Xantia (not sure if ZX's are the same) with the key pad is just to
Key in the code
Start the engine
Disconnect the KeyPad
It will then start normally without.
Put the disconnected keypad back into the mount and forget about it.
You MUST make a note of the Code (I mark it on the V5 with the radio code) as there are times that you might need it again.....battery swaps etc are OK....
You can also re-set the number to 1111 for example then you will never forget it.

Sure I tried this route some years ago and was told it's a no-go.Huskyxantia wrote: 07 Mar 2026, 10:13

Will have to have words with the friendly guy at the other Citroen dealer. I imagine that the code will have been changed anyway during someone's ownership. I recall Sylv's ZX was one owner from new IIRC.
I'll have a watch of the video.
"Removal of a fuse" - surely not!
Anyway, read comments and it's about a VE. Sylv's is a Lucas CAV so maybe not but it's definitely worth a try. Could do with some simple stuff after the Lexia / War Horse debarcle (which I have to tantalisingly say - IS NOW SOLVED...)

Re: My zx estate.
The wonderful world of good old fashioned mystery car issues
. I know now we would say all that security for an old Citroën but I can remember when the cars were being stolen for the xud engines and shipping them off overseas , my old mates peugeot 405 was stolen right out side his house , the immobiliser must of been bypassed , he never did get the car back even police said organised gangs were stealing these and they were being put into shipping containers and off they went , Poland,Spain, Portugal
