See what I have been relaxing with.
All of the levels were glued but not with Hot Glue.
It made some awful noises as I worked it apart
Got to the point where I know no power is going to the motor
Stopped for the football.

I refer to these as Temporary Permanent Work Rounds when I do them. Rally Servicing taught me the art of Bodging. Who needs rear brakes at 100mph round Knockhill when Molegrips and Gaffer Tape stop you losing all your brake fluid.CitroJim wrote: 04 Dec 2022, 14:56 So often it takes longer to bodge something that do the job properly... Some people never learn this basic rule...
I'll only ever bodge ('fake up' as I've always known it as - a term handed down from my dad) if it's extremely critical to get something rapidly functional whilst awaiting the correct spare part to do it properly...
I trust the PAS leak is not going to be a big issue - fingers crossed...

Agreed there Dormouse, we had to complete two stages in Dalby Forest with the front nearside caliper, which had seized, strapped up to the brake hose mount and bound with gaffer tape to maintain the hydraulic system integrity. It was a sod to get off and we wrecked the disc in the process but at least we completed the stages within OTL.Dormouse wrote: 06 Dec 2022, 08:49 I refer to these as Temporary Permanent Work Rounds when I do them. I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Oil leaking from Pressure Switch stub
Oh the joys of thinking on your back. In the mud and the rain.
I remember being particularly stretched for time that day. Everything that could go wrong did. At one point we were so tight on time in service that I threw the wheels on at the last minute, literally, nuts spun on finger tight, put the wheel brace on the navigators knees and told them to tighten the wheels themselves outside the time control and leave the brace lying for me to pick up. I couldn't service them outside the Time control but nothing said I couldn't look over their shoulders and then pick up the wheel brace when they left it. The marshals were sceptical until I enlightened them on the exact wording in the blue book. See, all my training as poacher turned gamekeeper was not in vain!
