Re: Citroen Relay 2006 Immobiliser Padlock
Got them Dieseljimmer thanks, a bit faint but I should be able to work with them thanks.
Today I checked continuity throughout the can ecu to abs to bsi and all good (less than 1ohm), I also did a test to ground and also a test to see if shorted together and all clear (open circuit). I am about to test can high and low voltages.....I will report back with findings.
I also tried various ways to try and detect modules with my Autel with no joy.....its like there is nothing there so maybe the fault is with the BSI.
Off the check can voltages next lol

Re: Citroen Relay 2006 Immobiliser Padlock
So voltages at various points batt V = 12.2v
IGN OFF
OBD can H = 0.0v, can L =10.9v
IGN ON
OBD can H =0.0v, can L = 4.9v.
can plug on BSI can H = 2.2v can L = 2.2v.
at ECU can H 2.2v, can L 2.2v.
Still no communication with my Autel to modules. Going back to basic input/output checks at ECU just to double check myself.

Ah, well done.
My readings are further up the posts on here.
I think I read 11v and zero on CAN H & L it's not what should be on the lines!
I had my Pico scope on the lines and couldn't get anything that looked correct, more like noise!!

Re: Citroen Relay 2006 Immobiliser Padlock
i need confirmation of the BSI pinouts, I cannot find any information anywhere so not sure which is plug/socket A.
I did find one post on here reference the faults we have and it turned out it was a broken ECU but I cannot believe a flat battery could cause that, again zero info out there to clarify if this a known fault with the Relay!!!

A11 = BSI
52 pin blue plug, pins 48 & 49
You can dismantle the plug a probe the pins directly

Re: Citroen Relay 2006 Immobiliser Padlock
The guy I had test my ECU confirmed lack of resistance across the pins internally to the ECU, as you say, how does that suddenly happen!!?? Hence the new ECU I purchased.

Re: Citroen Relay 2006 Immobiliser Padlock
Cheers for the pinout info, too dark now to test so will continue tomorrow. Your new ECU did not cure the fault though did it??
Hopefully we can sort this out, been quoted £800 for a replacement (cloned) ECU. I am going to try and find one to try on my van first, I know the immobliser wont deactivate but hopefully I can see if it cures the no comms

Do you know if the BSI is coded/paired to the ECU?

You can get a new superseded one cheaper than that!!Relay camperman wrote: 07 Sep 2023, 20:28 Cheers for the pinout info, too dark now to test so will continue tomorrow. Your new ECU did not cure the fault though did it??

I don't believe it is it just communicates with the ECU. You can't just add another BSI though you need to pull files off the BSI to load into the donor BSI, the problem is those files could have errors on them cause faults!

I am 10 miles from Stafford.......sounds promising
I wonder if the BSI can be reset somehow?

Hi,
Ive got the same problem with the immobiliser, just interested to see if you found a solution and got your van running again
Cheers

Hi there,
In short, no, I haven't managed to get the problem sorted! I also haven't been able to give it the time as I've had other stuff on the go! Frustrating to say the least.
Is yours a non runner also? Same symptoms as I've outlined in my posts?

Re: Citroen Relay 2006 Immobiliser Padlock
Hi sorry to hear that the problem still persists,
yes mine has the same symptoms unfortunately, I'm going to check the wires around the ECU at the weekend to make sure there's no broken wires, as this seems to be a common problem I'll update at the weekend.

Okay, I have couple of checks I need to do, cross short between wires and short to earth. Do you know the wires and pins you need to look at?
