Can only see one pic in the link above & it doesn’t show the ECU or CPH.

This was just a photo of the keys as requested by Paul. This is the set that I found originally which just has the keys and locks but no ECU or CPH.

I've already spoken personally but, just to bring everyone up to speed, the key cutter couldn't cut a key from a code, only copy from an existing key, He could only direct me to the Citroen dealer but warned me that it would be "vairy expensif".
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Well the very expensive bit certainly seems to be correct!

Like i said, Citroen are still showing the pre cut key as an available part. In the UK it's £44.13 + tax. This is sounding like a much better (and much cheaper) bet.
If you can confirm your VIN i can double check its the right part no first.
It may take around 2 weeks to arrive though but after that all you need to do is find someone with Lexia to program it. Shouldn't be too hard in France??

Thanks Wheeler. The problem is that I don't have the luxury of time - I am supposed to be starting the journey home this weekend, with a ferry to catch on Tuesday. If it wasn't so urgent I'd spend a bit of time trying to persuade the Citroen garage that it can be done.

Well for the first time ever, your probably praying for an old car thief to join FCF and tell you how to do it

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

The auto locksmith has been and paired a pair of keys. He said he has had a call from someone in the same village with exactly the same problem with a Corsa but they're having no luck getting the key code from Opel.
It's lovely to be back in the Xantia - such a great car.

And the final bill was?
Were both keys the same type? Standard or remote locking?

Re: Only key lost! Can this be replaced DIY using Diagbox?
Both standard keys (which he had cut before he came). Total time at the car was about 10 minutes. It was 480€ in total. On the one hand I feel like he took advantage of the fact I didn't really have a lot of options, but on the other hand, it was cheaper than leaving the car behind and coming back for it. And overall I'm just really happy to have the car back - it's such a happy car.
