I don't know why you all dislike running and cycling. I am active in both, its just that the running is "up bills" and the cycling is of the "re" variety!!

Not with a knackered ankle it isn't... even walking and cycling can have you end up like this - grade 2 calf tear, 4 weeks on crutches and no driving. Saw my physio today - I hadn't seen the bruising before today!

I know exactly how you feel.. When I can't run I get massive withdrawal symptoms and I'm not such a nice person to know... I'm definitely addicted...

I think a streak of sadism is needed to be a good physio I regularly see mine for a proper deep sports massage...

Pleasure and pain in equal measure but by gosh, it works The pain actually does become pleasurable

Too close to my tetanus and 'flu allegedly... Must be 7 clear days...

Walking through the house. It just popped, felt like 10000 cramps in my calf all at once and my leg gave way. Physio thinks my weak ankle has been straining the calf over the years and it finally had enough.
I'll know more on Monday as I'm seeing an ankle consultant in Guilford..

The modern needles are so fine I never feel them, a bit different to the ones we had, six of them, when we were posted to Egypt in the 1950s, the damned things were like knitting pins.

Same here Eric, I didn't feel any of my 3 Covid ones or the 'flu one from last year. I remember when I was a kid having TB and Tetanus jabs with enormous needles. The TB one was a nasty one.
I had to have 3 steroid injections in my ankle over the last few years. They guide it with ultrasound so they can see exactly where it's going. Long needle. I thought it would hurt like hell, but it really
didn't.. the pain of the steroid doing it's thing (or not, in my case) was more painful.

Yes, very likely the ankle... It's amazing how the body makes compensations but equally those compensations can cause problems in other areas...

Let's hope it soon resolves and the physio and specialist can work some magic

They can do them all together on the same day as long as they use a different bit of arm muscle each time. As explained to me the problem was that they could not tell whereabouts the earlier jabs were done so could not take the risk in case they hit the same spot a second time...

I've spent most of today totally and utterly wiped-out... Only now am I beginning to gain a bit of functionality... This morning I could barely crawl!

If the old saying that if a vaccine provokes a reaction it's worked is true then mine's certainly worked... Felt for all the world like I had Covid for a few hours...

Still feeling a but urrgh even now but at least I've regained a little mental functionality!
