Well done Roger good progress at last, minor bit of welding and your up and running !!!!

That would be the icing on the cake if I can get the turbo quiet and full power.
Intercooler leaks will give themselves away by what looks like an oil leak in the vicinity of the leak...

It'd more likely it's the little short stubby hose that links the turbo outlet to the plastic pipe that runs under the engine to the intercooler or one of the big rubber hoses to/from the intercooler... Small splits can be hard to find visually but can really upset running... They can hide when the engine is not running but open up under boost pressure...

Can you hear any whistling noises or air rushing around, especially when you manipulate the hoses?

I did have a quick look at that yesterday when I was in the MOT pit but I didn't manipulate it. I seem to recall I've taken it off before and cleaned it up. Will double check it when I go to get the welding done.
