Tell your mate he's got 5½/6. Not bad at all, but second place to Neilmickthemaverick wrote: 06 May 2020, 22:47 Well he has come up with six titles and artists so I'll hide them if you don't want to see yet:
I can say without doubt I knew none of them at all and I don't think I've ever seen any of the sleeves.

Re: FCF Desert Island Discs
Just before I roll my sleeves up Mick and get stuck into your poser.....do I read it right that for picking the Frank Sinatra song you have chosen out of his "297 singles in his solo career, spanning 54 years. " there are 10 points on offer if it matches your answer on the card?
REgards Neilmickthemaverick wrote: 07 May 2020, 00:09 As my album choices are so easy to identify I thought I'd put up the 9 artistes who are responsible for my choice of 9 singles to take with me. So 10 points for each song you can guess/identify![]()

You got it!! It struck me as an idea to introduce luck or mind reading into the mix.

I could make it 50 points an answer less 10 points for each clue requested? What do you think?

Re: FCF Desert Island Discs
Well I think I have the 9 artists Mick, and three of them have had considerably less singles than Frank Sinatra, and I've quite possibly may have heard at least one of them on the terraces at St James Park (with different words! chanted in a derogatory fashion about a former QPR and Manchester City Player)
The points awarding is fair enough Mick and simple, Newcastle only get 3 points for beating Manchester City or Brighton regardless of the skill or luck involved in the result:-D
Regards Neil

Would that be a player in boggy territory?

Re: FCF Desert Island Discs
Spot on Mick. The chant is a perfect example of gormless ignorance but bordering on amusing for that fact alone, and interspersing a random crudity for an outside convenience as a derogatory punchline to an otherwise pleasantly melodic homage to the players name.
If you are not familiar with it this is how it goes to the tune of your selection I believe

Re: FCF Desert Island Discs
The plot thickens, I don't remember the chant, I cannot make it fit to the tune of the song which is by the artist you are referring to....I think
Hence you have the wrong song or I have the wrong artist
?

Re: FCF Desert Island Discs
A whole half a point was deducted for the Black album. The album was Wonderful Life, one of the singles from it was Everything's Coming Up Roses.mickthemaverick wrote: 07 May 2020, 08:09Will do but he'll ask me which one is missing the 1/2 so let me know please Bobinsbobins wrote: 07 May 2020, 06:50 Tell your mate he's got 5½/6. Ok Thanks Bobins I will tell him to check his thoughts before he answers next time
He did answer with all 6 in a few minutes so I'm pretty sure it was off the top of his head!!

Re: FCF Desert Island Discs
Not sure what you mean there Neil? I was trying to get the chant to fit with the song from a different artist in my nine, who I thought would be the most likely to be on the terraces at St James' Park!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: 07 May 2020, 10:18
