Good makes it a lot easier , my xantia had same issue same side but they had colour coded plugs which is why I didn't know if Picasso was the same.

No hand brake warning light on dash and a slightly dim LCD display

2 small panel bulbs replaced easy fix.

Then I found the hand brake needed the metal part the warning light switch sits in pushing back about 4mm .

This then allowed the switch to operate as intended and illuminate the dash warning light.

Cheap fix that took all of 5 mins

Just the rear door lock motor to replace when that arrives and the rear wiper issue (working on own)which is making me think , checked wires first for damage multiplex wiring ??
Waste money on another motor or bung it up after removing it , where to get the bung from ??

Anyone know the signs of a suspect relay ?
Wire to the rear wiper motor is fine I unplugged the loom from the wiper motor and found the live popped a bulb tester on the plug and the bulb lit up BUT not a regular pattern as if the wiper would sweep .
The relay ticks and here's what got me turning of the switch the wiper did 3 complete sweeps after it was as I said turned off, I noticed pushing down on the wiper spindle it would make it work WITH IGNITION OFF !!!
Any suggestions , maybe get another relay ?

I have only test driven one. It's a car I would use. Suspension is quite compliant and loads about for spares. Quite roomy,but did not seem as big as my old C5.
You could find a good one, or build a good one. Pity they only done the 2.0 hdi in 90bhp.

One can get a remap up to 123bhp and enormous torque, as I did.with my 04 plate 2.0HDi Berlingo 0-60, genuinely, timed on an app at 8.9 seconds and remarkable in-gear pull.

I'm currently "looking after" a 2.0 HDi Picasso, 03 plate Exclusive. Mate dropped it off for me to sort out in May 2018... it's still here, still reliable and I've done 10,000 miles in it

If I was a 20 something I'd consider remapping But ... If its road worthy and gets me to where I need then im happy

Update if anyone's interested .

Testing the rear door lock motor has confirmed loom is fine lock is dead .

Replacement part sourced and will be fitted within the coming days weather permitting.

The whole car has been deep cleaned and looks a whole lot better.

The rear wiper motor has been unplugged for now , have sourced a replacement which comes as a kit , apparently there brackets are held in by special rivets which had to be drilled out and replaced with normal bolts with washes and nylock nuts.

Wiper stalk is ok and by the sounds the relay ok as well plus loom

This has to be a wiper motor failing as its doing the very same as what my xantia did when I had that.

Try the BSI reset first of all to clear any BSI niggles (unless already done recently).

BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

Although the battery is under the front passenger seat, there are remote positive and earth blocks under the bonnet located at 'b' below. I'm not sure from memory whether these have a release to disconnect one or the other - or whether they are used just for measuring purposes / jumping.

OK here we go , pointing toward a relay now

I did the full reboot, I did a dry run first to make sure I got it right plus I had to plug the motor back in.

So here's what I'm getting .
Switch back wiper on it wipes 3 times.
Then nothing till I turn it off it wipes 3 times again , start engine up clutch down select reverse it wipes ( even when switch is off) and that's normal as far as i understand

I've no intermittent wipe for the rear the relay clicks when turning on The rear wiper and clicks when its turned off with Tue accompanied 3 wipes ..

So it looks to me as if the relay can't do the intermittent part ... Looked at the loom last week and its fine.

The reboot was easy enough and when I switched my side lights on a nice loud tone was heard.

The rear wiper action varies according to vehicle speed. Here's a little info...

The table below gives the intermittence timings of rear wipe as a function of vehicle speed and of windscreen wipe speed.

In the mode: Stop or PVI, there is no automatic rear wipe.

• PVI: Intermittent Slow speed

Rear wiper motor protection
The BSI protects the rear wiper motors against overheating in the event of blocked torque, irrespective of the operating mode requested by the user.
The protection timing for both the windscreen and rear screen wiper motors is 7 seconds.
