Re: Posting photos.
That gives an error - file too large. (exported from GIMP as .png but uncompressed).
I could compress it but that would defeat the point of the exercise - i.e. that the forum hosting software will automatically resize the images.

I used GIMP to export this as a .jpg and then found I was able to post it.
Which one? The larger image was the original off the phone. The smaller one was resized using Paint. Both were jpegs so still clueless as to what's going on.

Re: Posting photos.
That's what I assumed but someone assured me the forum can resize them.
So, for future reference, what's the size limits?

The smaller one as a .png - I was unable to use your original though.

Re: Posting photos.
The one that worked was 198.63 kb.
I'll check back but sure I have test-posted larger ones.

Oh well, next time it happens I'll just keep reducing them until they work, I guess.

Re: Posting photos.
It's not a size issue Steve. I've reduced it to just 77kb and still being told it's "invalid".

Re: Posting photos.
Hmm, just converted the original 3.83mb jpeg to PNG and it grew to 17.9mb! And the forum accepted it.

Re: Posting photos.
It can't be the size Mike - the one above, taken on the las bank holiday in Whitby, is 4.8Mb and was accepted immediately.
It is .jpg too.

Yep, got that Steve. Seems not all jpegs are equal and this forum doesn't like mine. Possibly a metadata issue?

Re: Posting photos.
At least I have a workaround in the meantime. If you guys want to look into the issue at your leisure and discover the cause, let me know your findings please.

Re: Posting photos.
Can't see anything in the metadata on your photo's that would cause any problems but looking at my posted images, the forum has resized them.
