chaps .. I have never had this holy grail regen thing in 10k..judging by harlequins post I am sure the car would let me know it was up to something?:)

regening an auto.. can I still hold it in 4 at 2500 etc? in theory it won't change up on manual shift but have never tried...

Your service light will ususally come on and generally with a message when it starts to clog. If it hasn't I wouldn't worry about it. It won't regen until it needs to, so enem holding it at those revs won't cause a regen if it doesn't need one John, if that makes sense.

Me as well, never had anything. I have had no lights, changes of engine sound/revs, never seen smoke etc

Now is there a massive piece of wood I can touch nearby ? :)

On my 307 I can tell it's regenning as there is a relay clicks on / off in the BSI, and it runs slightly rough on a trailing throttle. If the rear window is damp or steamed up, you can see the heater is on. More difficult to tell in the C4, but the window still does it thing - this one smells very hot if stopped soon afterwards though - not really noticed this on the 307. It should be regenning about every 300 miles. The warning light will only come on if the soot level gets too high or it has failed to complete the regen after starting it a couple of times - had this a couple of times on the C4 which does a fair bit of short trips.
