Pop the top off the BSM cover and have a look at the number that is written on it (Looks like an old PSA part number beginning 96, but usually isn't!) - I might have one you can borrow for a trial....

I've got 2 actually.... (like you do!). One is the right one for my 307, which was procured to try on the C4 Picasso, but is not right for that - engine started with it in, but the wipers wouldn't work! I eventually bought a new one for the C4, and still have the old one which I think is OK in fact (as the fault was actually the EGR valve). I will fit the replacement to the 307 some time, as mine reports a fault where it can't see the DPF addititve ECU, and it smells a bit burnt!

If you've still got it could drop the Activa battery on my smart charger and see if it can revive it - it's worked miracles on some wrecks before! Can never hurt to have spares...

The 207 is now back on the road after an MOT and is my daily driver now whilst Gabriel comes off the road for a heavy overhaul...

Just before the MOT, I stripped out the engine bay fusebox and Engine ECU and cleaned up every connection and every fuse...

I also cleaned every earth connection and found a slightly suspect one where the battery negative bonds to the bodyshell and then goes off to the gearbox..

The bonding pillar on the bodyshell was painted and the only contact was via a rusty bolt. I removed the paint to make a good connection and cleaned up the bolt...

She's not cut out yet but it's still early days...

I will report on how she goes over the coming weeks now she is back in regular and supervised use...

Pug 207s have a charm of their own and a way of getting under your skin in much the same way a Xantia does...

Gabriel is coming off the road for a new heater matrix and a new clutch...

She deserves it, being such a good example...

Thanks for the link, will have a shufty round when I get a moment. Sounds like Peugeot have carried on a tradition started with the 205 then, as I do rate the 206 as one of those "subcutaneous" kind of cars also. I have to admit I/we have never really looked at the 207 with much fondness as the proportions just seem a bit strange compared to the 205, 206 and 208 too actually. If we ever do move towards "modern rubbish" for whatever reason I think the 208 was one of the cars we'd have to look into...
