Curently I use same rims and bought Michelin primacy 3 (just went with a bit narrower and higher profile - 215/60 r17 96V for less noise) I just cant hear tyres at all. tried 18inces with pilot sport tyres and would never ever go to bigger rims or wider tyre. C5 IMHO is made for silence , comfort and refinement. I have denied this and went on some nice drive (over 6000rpm ,few drags) and my car” thanked”me with blown/cracked exaust manifold

so I drive nicely since then.
yes my car have steeel suspension . I’m having enough problems with “clasics”childish c5 problems (fan, water in doors, broken lift mechanism, steering rack leak) and do not want to ad another one

steels suspension of c5 is very nice BTW.
