The Gent who has taken (on Friday) the red Activa 2ltr has a standard breaker waiting to use when restoring the Activa....I will ask him about the condition on the door jams of that car and put him in touch with you if they are any good.
He should be skilled enough to remove them as he is not phased by the welding he has to do on the Activa and he will not have to do anything to that one as they are "good" in that area.

I'm glad the activa is getting saved, there's not a lot left. I keep wanting to go out and start poking at the left side but, as it looks worse just to see how bad it is, but I need to resist that urge!

I spoke to our local bodyshop, he said it will definately be a hole. He wouldn't give me a price as there could be all sorts of trouble under it. He sat let a mot man see it. I think it's too close to the structural areas and the seat belt mounting and once it is a hole it is a fail. I've got till September lol

It is definitely an mot fail as 'within 30cms of a seatbelt mounting point''. Bith sides have patches on my TD and the others show the same rust so guessing theyre on their way too.

Also, I have the genuine Citroen body manuals for the Xantia and they may well complement your Thatcham manuals Alasdair...

Ah i see ... most posts i read seem to refer to this as series 1 or series 2 but i now understand where you're coming from. No need to run your posts through google translation in future ... [emoji1]

Phase or Series, it does not matter... Neither are Citroen terms...
