The above makes sense, thanks.

I managed to bung it up for now, but still have a boost leak from somewhere, and its getting frustrating now.

Would anybody be interested in taking this off my hands?

I'm not loving it, and it has a few issues to sort, however it does have MOT and Tax. Owes me about 1k, but would take an offer around £650. Located in Southampton.

That's a shame :( I was hoping it was going to be third time lucky..

What was the cause of you not bonding?

I might adore mine - if I ever get it back on the road and get to the end of the list of problems that I've been working through since I bought it all those years ago
(I do still like looking at it though, if nothing else - always thought it was a good looking car and I do really like it in black 8-) )

Just you wait until you drive it properly Iain. A well sorted Activa is pure joy..

On the other hand a poor one is horrible...

Any Activa now is going to take work now to make it good. Worth it though...

Mike, no you can't. Activas are getting so thin on the ground now it'll be a shame for that to happen to them...

It can be fun Mike.. I have a long flexible 7mm nut driver. It looks like a long screwdriver with a flexible shaft with a 7mm socket on the end.. That can often be threaded into inaccessible areas to undo Jubilee clips. Whether or not it'll be successful or not depends on the orientation of the clip.

Good luck sir [-o<

Sorry to hear you've been having issues  ..... I can only put it down to the time it was stood on my drive. Don't recognise the suspension symptoms at all and there were no performance issues when it came off the road. Felt quicker than the C4 VTR+ HDi I also had at the time. I would expect the ECU light and performance issues are related as the light only came on when I started it to take the pics I sent you :(

I sent a cambelt kit with the car by the way.

Activas that lie unused for a while can take a time to get themselves straight when brought back into use. Don't I know that with my own after a relatively short layup over winter.

It's not your fault.

I have found a bit of renewed optimism over the last few days, as the ECU light has taken to turning itself off occasionally, which makes me think it might be a dodgy connection somewhere, it's just a case of narrowing it down to where.

I just need to decide if I want to spend money on new spheres and rubber and have the cambelt changed.

Are you coming to the X Rally on Sunday? An ideal opportunity to Lixia the problem on the Engine ECU and others and generally have a good natter about Activa-related things...

Bit too far from Southampton I'm afraid. It's a shame coz I could really do with a plug into a lexia.
