rather than sily ccccc oning it migh be better to clean them up and try to supper glue them John,

in the mean time i would constantly soak the R clip area in penetrating fluid, the likes of plus gas or diesel fuel

The MOT test for Petrol cats isn't taht bad either if you have LPG and an empty box in the exhaust.

Got News for DPF removal people too!!

Thats NOW a NO NO and failiure if the DPF is removed now! I read that in Auto Express (I think) .....

That's why you map it out and leave the hardware in place so no one can tell.

Problem with de-cating a petrol and leaving the boxes in place is they tend to resonate through the empty boxes.

We've got two V8 Petrol Range Rover's which run on LPG, both of which are de-cat'd. We tried on one with empty boxes but the noise was horrendous so we got some pipe, cut the cats out and welded them in. Noise levels are about the same. We've never failed an MOT test either as they are presented on LPG rather then Petrol so they don't need to be present apparently. One of them was MOT'd last month, the next is due next month.

Also, any car registered before a certain date (1992 sometime i believe) doesn't legally need cats either.
