i repeat... i DO NOT weigh things in.. i useually fix them.. just i dont have the time messing with my own.. cheers guys... will see if i get time to do anything. but the answer i think is a set of softies.. or drill the centre holes out on the hydractive spheres.....

If you know the spheres have the required amount of gas in them then you could turn them into comfort spheres by drilling the centre hole slightly. Though this plays with damping and can leave it rather underdamped. Its not the best way around things in my opinion, a Hydractive Xant can be made much softer but while keeping damping the same.

Hang on everyone seems to have missed this bit.
Xantia sport mode doesn't put it into hard mode, so along an easy undulating road you won't notice the difference between sprot mode being on or off.

It could he ride height or the clamp on the end of the manual rod being in slightly the wrong place so changing spheres won't make a difference.

I'm due down to St Asaph (it's too small to be a city) probably at the end of the month or early May, could perhaps coincide with Jim's visit and come see you :)

Definitely something wrong then, could be someone's wired the switch up to the fuse so activating it pulls the fuse giving perm hard mode, like hydractive 1

Yes there is as in normal driving the only obvious effect of pressing the switch is lighting up the switch. All the switch does is tell the ECU to change the thresholds at which hard/soft switching occurs. In Sport mode the suspension switches hard mode more readily than it does in comfort mode.

Generally the switch from soft to hard occurs when cornering, braking and accelerating with some enthusiasm. If you watch live data from the ECU it is keen to switch when going around corners to give it some roll resistance. The switching between hard and soft you don't feel at all. You only know it's done the job because of the low (not as low as an Activa but much less than a standard Xantia) amount of roll the occurs when cornering.
