The drive to Glasgow was totally uneventful appart from horendous fog on the M6 and a diversion at the scene of the M5 tragedy. The heater worked fine and the comfort was outstanding. And the economy from the HDi engine is frankly remarkable. I love this car!

A Xantia HDi will always get your affection in the end, it doesnt normally take much beyond the second fill upPrilliant03 wrote:The drive to Glasgow was totally uneventful appart from horendous fog on the M6 and a diversion at the scene of the M5 tragedy. Back home on friday night. Covered 1,400 miles in total over the course of the week and the car performed faultlessly (appart from still leaking fuel if overfilled..... time for a new o-ring perhaps?).

Here is the tool I made for the tank sender ring. It makes the job very easy, including getting the ring tight enough.
It needs to be stronger than MDF - I think I used threequarter ply. Should be a snug fit to avoid damaging the ring.
