The drive to Glasgow was totally uneventful appart from horendous fog on the M6 and a diversion at the scene of the M5 tragedy. The heater worked fine and the comfort was outstanding. And the economy from the HDi engine is frankly remarkable. I love this car!

Now hoping for a repeat performance on the return trip this coming friday :)

A Xantia HDi will always get your affection in the end, it doesnt normally take much beyond the second fill up :)

Back home on friday night. Covered 1,400 miles in total over the course of the week and the car performed faultlessly (appart from still leaking fuel if overfilled..... time for a new o-ring perhaps?).

Here is the tool I made for the tank sender ring. It makes the job very easy, including getting the ring tight enough.

It needs to be stronger than MDF - I think I used threequarter ply. Should be a snug fit to avoid damaging the ring.
