Well maybe for me, but as this will be mainly my mums car and also the family town car it will need to be something which suits all needs. My parents hate Fabias anyway, they say they are old fashioned

It wouldn't be my first choice either but then neither would a C3.
Guy at work wanted a C3 or C4 and had difficulty finding any that weren't falling to bits.
Bought a C4 then backed out of it and picked up the VR6 and thinks it is the best thing since the proverbial.
Fast as anything (I've seen him accelerate away from me at an astounding rate, with three passengers) and it hardly uses any diesel at all.
He had it chipped to 168 BHP, shifted the oil cooler to the rear and had a bigger fuel cooler fitted, plus a K&N air filter.
Well yes, a VRS does appeal slightly but its not what we are after.
Ive been in a Polo and Ibiza FR with the same 130bhp 1.9TDi PD engine and they are pretty lively.
Though not what we are wanting. Something comfortable, roomy and offers enough space for the shopp and occasional days out with the dogs.
The C3 and the Modus both appeal to our interests, we all like them and thats important with a car. Ive done it in the past where buying a car whish I was not interested in seemed like a good idea because it was a good car. But a few months later i got utterly bored and it was no good, it had to go.
I think id prefer a Modus at the moment, they do feel a bit better put together and they are very funky and different, which we like. Its certainly on of my favourite small cars, its like a big car in a little package.
I do like C4s, but they do not wear well at all. Ones ive seen, even a year or so old, often look tired and worn inside. The build is not the best either.
The C5 is a step above the C3 and C4 for build quality.
