Kev, when you do your cambelt, would you like to take a load of photos or perhaps come up here for the weekend and do it? It's about time we had a proper photographic XUD cambelt writeup done...

Xantias seem to go and go dont they :)

I like both series Xantias, at the moment i prefer S1 but my preference does change at times :lol:

It would be nice to be near to all of the helpful Citroeneers in your area, nothing happens up here, very few events and i always have to travel hundreds of miles to get to the bigger ones. I think i need to relocate :lol:

I'm starting to feel that way about Xantia Heater matrixes and V6 autoboxes :lol: :lol:

I keep the old belts from the ones I've done and hang them on the back of the garage door. There's a fair collection of them there now and the V6 one you could use as a skipping rope :lol: :lol:

Oh yes, heaters too...

Anyone know if the 307 Matrix is also a Dash out?? Ive asked on the Peugeot section, but no answers yet..

Meant to answer that question Paul, sorry.

I would err on the side of yes it is to be on the safe side. Have a look at where the matrix pipes go through the bulkhead and then see if there is easy access from the other side. I doubt there is.

The days of "easy" matrix changes are now long gone I fear. What's the problem with the 307? leaking? Smelling like a curry house?

Yea, same customer who has the Xantia HDi 110bhp that I look after..

He has this 307 14 HDi, and phoned me today so I said Id ask..

Is it just me or does this thread seem like a conversation held around a table in a local pub by mates on a quiet night out :D :D

Pedantically the switch changes the thresholds that cause the suspension to switch to hard mode. The car remains in soft mode until it does something which requires stiffer suspension, such as going around a bend, or a sudden swerve.
I believe it was the early XMs where the button was a manual override for hard/sport mode rather than just changing the thresholds.

Oh and hydractive is very good, it's 2.1TD with Lucas Epic that are gawd awful ;)

Martyn, the electrovavles can fail giving only hard mode, but it's normally an easy and cheap fix to install new diodes, infact there's a kit you can get which just splices into the wires from the ECU box, giving you new diodes.
