As nice as that xantia is, my goodness it went for a lot of money, bidder 14 jumped in in the end.

Anyone from here? If not hopefully they will sign up and we can help him/her keep it in good nick that it is.

If I'd known that an 11 year old Xantia was worth so much I'd have held onto my pair a little longer....

Yes, far better than it getting scrapped!

Its bound to be cherished by its new owner after having paid at that price.

I'd be scared to drive it
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

Hope the cambelt didn't snap on the way home! Heart crushing if it did! at least it wouldn't write the car off so easily having paid so much.

Out of interest, I wonder how much should the book price be on a mint 11k mile xant 1.9td lx auto s-reg like that? Anyone know

Yes id be scared of driving it too, in fear of the cambelt snapping! That would be first on my list of jobs for that car if i was its new owner. Chances are they have not even thought about it. :? Coolent is probably original which doesnt bode too well, tyres will no doubt need replacing as it seemed to have michelins on still, so i bet they will be original and 11 years old.

You would certainly have to agree that value with your insurance company when taking out a policy.

Not sure what the book price would be, would not be near the price paid i bet.

Dunno why so many of you are suspicious of a car like this. I bought mine in the UK in summer this year. it's a late year 2000 Hdi, 38000 miles, one elderly owner, full main dealer service history (print out from dealer).

I've done nothing except drive it and enjoy it (mind you, I did have to change to continental headlights, living inFrance).

Yes, the cambelt was changed (time expired, not mileage) and yes, pollen filters, coolant, suspension fluid, and more..............all at proper service intervals.

The car's brilliant. And still only 43000miles.

Nothing wrong with that at all, infact i wish i could find one just like it!

We had a 94 Xm which had only done 31K miles, very nice car and absolutely stunning. Only sold it recently with 33K miles on the clock, for a very reasonable price. :)

My Accord was similar, L-reg and had only done 53,000 when I bought it. Immaculate inside and out, the dealer had serviced the hell out of it, done every six months regardless of mileage and every tiny glitch was seen to as soon as it appeared. No-one had sat in the back seats and it looked as though the boot had never been opened. If someone hadn't written it off for me I would likely still be driving it.
