Hmm. Time to visit CostCo again and check the price of their 20L barrels of veg methinks! Paid £50 for 35L earlier today, mind you the 35L that replaced did get me just over 400 miles so not too bad, on mixed roads.

What on earth! I thought this would link to the class action in the US over CostCo's Wi-Fi leading to people's credit card details being obtained

Anyway, I didn't get any SVO as I didn't have room in the trolley due to other "essentials". Have been running the Hunter from Newbury to Trowbridge every day, and to Solihull and back today - worked out I got 375 miles from 31.1L, which I make 54.4mpg. Not bad at all!

Just don't buy a Hummer.
Not likely I know, unless the French decide to make them.

Just got the latest local diesel prices - £1.29/L cheapest.

Although I've heard that Hummer's are a good way to get around the increase in VED.
Apparently to import cars, you don't have to declare the CO2 emissions, so it reverts to a default £185.
No idea on whether there is any truth in that though.

The congestion charge had an initial effect on traffic levels, but the congestion is just as bad now if not worse. After watching a news report this morning where the price of a barrel of oil is expected to go a lot higher it will have more of an effect on traffic levels than the con charge ever did, because drivers will not be able to afford to use their cars!

Just been and filled up. £74:75 for 65 Litres.

This is 100% Biodiesel made from virgin rapeseed oil.
The company I buy it from has abandoned reprocessing WVO as supplies were sporadic and processing complex. They find it more economical to use rapeseed oil as a starting point and claim a higher quality product.

The rather lumpy idling I experienced from the last fillup has disappeared.

For mainly town driving and short trips I achieved 447 miles from the last tank.

Off to Whitby at the weekend so Italian Tune-Up time again

Went to get diesel yesterday and big ques at the garages already, my local Jet is limiting you to £10 a time, what a joke it's not even two gallons these days, and they have put a penny on diesel up from 126.9 to 127.9, luckily I got a full tank from Tesco at 126.9 but 60 litres cost me over £76.....

I notced today though that Morrison's in Airdrie is already up to 128.9 somebody is taking the micky somewhere, the papers were saying only last week the cost of oil had dropped from $135 to $122 a barrel and diesel import prices had come down 10% since the end of May so why the price increase......

The current high price has absolutely nothing to do with the price of crude. They are hiking the price for one reason and one reason only- because they can.
