Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
This was featured on the BBC webshite, but if you want to stretch your brain a bit....... and probably groan out loud on several occassions, then you could do worse that have a go at the Alzheimer's Research UK "Think Brain Health picture puzzle".
https://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/br ... re-puzzle/
The idea is that there are 40 train stations hidden in the picture. Some of them are quite cryptic
If anyone has a go and wants a clue or two - some of them are very obscure - then feel free to ask

Worrying? No, not really. It's just how my brain works - all my life I've been unable to solve even the simplest of puzzles of this nature and perform very poorly on IQ tests.
One Christmas I was given the GCHQ Puzzle Book as a present... Every puzzle in it - even the simple ones - have been an epic fail for me.
Ditto, cryptic crosswords... Point out the answer and I go 'Ahhh, I see!'

Same here Jim, never had any interest in such things.
Didn't get any. Read the answers, not a single one. I must have Alzheimer's and probably always have had.

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I managed 19 on the phone in about 20 mins last night and then gave up. Couldn't recognise the animal on the Cortina or the Piper or the top right corner in general. Boy with red boots, the witches and elderly lady with thumbs up no idea either!! May have a look on the laptop later with a bigger picture!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I thought the Cortina was a Vauxhall and thought 'Vauxhall Cross', which isn't a railway station at all but something completely different.
The others that I though might fit were also hopelessly wrong.

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Nice to see one of my old threads getting a revival when I popped in for a peruse this morning. Yes thanks Bobins, enjoyed that one, remains unfinished as yet 3 remaining. Surprising omission of any stations North of the Border, so far in my 37!
It won't be that much of a spoiler suffice to say obscure stations with one service a day on the Cotswold Line are not that well known up here!

Great to hear from you Neil, I'm on a mere 24 at the moment although I have only spent 20 minutes on the phone and 10 on the laptop so far. Dare I ask how long the 37 took you?

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
A nice waste of a day, but its raining and has been for most of January, still haven't got the howling dog, the united v city footy match in the field with the pink floating bird on the swimming pool with the springboard, or the tattooist in the bottom corner!mickthemaverick wrote: 02 Feb 2026, 16:22 Great to hear from you Neil, I'm on a mere 24 at the moment although I have only spent 20 minutes on the phone and 10 on the laptop so far.
