Scraper seal shroud is off, new bush (from Jim) inserted, ram back on........

Gave up messing about with a puller and seal extractor Jim, you mate are more dextrous than I am
I made a special extractor out of two large truck washers cut in half for removing the scraper seal shroud, photos later.

Ram is on, scraper seal shroud is on and seated, ball is on & all greased, gaiter is in position........and the Ram will not pull up to fit into the top socket, it is now about 3~4.cm short.
I have tried pulling it with all my strength via mole grips on an old nylock, no joy

Have you got the Activa system de-pressurised? Even if you have it's hard to move the ram so I find it best to use a jack on the suspension and move the suspension to the ram rather than try to pull the ram out...Stickyfinger wrote: I have tried pulling it with all my strength via mole grips on an old nylock, no joy

Yep, just done that, I can report the RAM is FIXed..........BUT

LHM is pissing out ! There is a three way connector up behind here....any thoughts about getting to it ?

Looks like No 4...or No 13 ?

Re: shortly to become an Activa owner...Project Stictiva
On thé non-activa version, the return connector can be reached by jacking up the car a little, removing the subframe bolts on one side and gently lowering the subframe.
If the plastic pipe is popping out of a rubber connector, put a small cable tie around the joint to increase the friction.

ahhhhhhh BUM, this is really really Pea-Inninig me off....
So, who has a link to that procedure, I never done it ?
This is the puller tool clamp I made for the scraper seal removal, based on two cut washers.

knowing now just how weak the join is I will for next time weld on some captive nuts and use a smaller rod diameter as the clearance was just a little tight for my liking

Re: shortly to become an Activa owner...Project Stictiva
That's a really impressive looking tool!
You should be able to rent that out...
(ok yep, read into that what you will
)
Everything around the rear subframe on the Activa is nightmare to work on, IME
Not that that helps!
But...
It can't be number 13, because that's a high pressure connector, rather than a low pressure join?
You might be able to reach up and just push on the low pressure pipes either side, to make sure they are fully home? If you're lucky, that's the only cause of the leak, rather than the T-piece having split?

Cheers Jim and Iain and V6
If anybody ever needs to borrow it just shout.....really easy to make it however.
Now this fracking leak..........IF (I always assume the worst
How ?
What needs disconnecting?
Tricks with a long alien arm ?
From what angle do I reach in ?
Remember I have it up high on ramps so it is hard to get jacks under the sub-frame unless I put the car on the ground. (I could bridge the gap and have a jack on that if it is not too heavy)
Cheers

Re: shortly to become an Activa owner...Project Stictiva
Don't ask me - my solution when I couldn't get the new ABS sensor grommit into place on my rear subframe (because I can't teleport my hands) was to leave the car sat in disgrace on the drive for a year... (after which it magically went in first time
) And I never did solve how to get the connector plug back into it mounting clip on top of the subframe (completely given up on that one!)
I suspect you don't want to wait that long though...

LOL...rather not
On the Leak issue, I put up the wrong image....new one below....I just cannot "see" how this relates to the car
is it 11 on 6, or 10 on 6 or 10 on 4

Re: shortly to become an Activa owner...Project Stictiva
Although I've only done it on a scrapper it's not hard to lower the subframe a few inches to aid accessibility... Nothing needs disconnecting as there's enough 'give' in the pipework...
It's an essential task if you ever need to gain access tot he Activa electrovalve...

Re: shortly to become an Activa owner...Project Stictiva
So ?? is it just a case of taking out the two sub-frame mount bolts on the right side and lowering, .....or....... undo ALL 4 ?...I am assuming just one side
