There is a link in here somewhere yes Come together was on the radio the other day. Didn't realise Ike and Tina's version as a single was out before the Beatles own single.

Honky tonk woman was on the B side

So theres Queen at Live Aid
Thin Lizzy/Gary Moore on the OGWT

and this totally fantastic live performance from Tina Turner...awesome live performance...and I do believe the lad from Jarrow got himself a decent gig twanging his guitar in the background! (but who is he?)

Looks like Chris Rhea but sounds more like Knoppfler.
I remember this on the TV and father in law drooling over her legs. (not literally)

Spot on James. John was/is a decent artist in his own right but he landed on his feet playing with Tina Turner for many years.

OK Neil, I've been trying to identify the link you suggested and here's my thought train:
I posted the Hydrogen song prompted by the Hydrogen thread which generated the Oxygen track. The mix produced the rain from the beatles as a result of them coming together which is where Tina came into the picture and (pause to wipe brow!!!) her Honky Tonk led us back to the horrendous car you posted the other day, criticism of which forced you to go out and get something viewable before all modern cars get too ugly!! Am I close or Miles away like Steve? :-D :-D

I was, I didn't live in England back then and was here on holiday when FIL saw Tina on the box.

It was an American colleague/friend who introduced me to Roxy Music and Dire straights, with no inkling that I would eventually land on their doorstep.
