False plates on an Xantia!
The film company should have checked where they got their props from.

It gets worse, if you watch the film the driver swallows the key. How I hear you ask? Those Mk2 key fobs are huge!CitroJim wrote:That's great![]()

Makes me want to get hold of the car and give it a big hug...
Apparently it uses a Ford key.

Re: French cars in films
The latest X Men film has various Citroens in high numbers, as part of it is set (I believe) in the seventies in France, so there are various DS and at least 1 H Van.

The "CX" men..... a bunch of superheroes stood around some Citroëns, looking at puddles of LHM under their CXs, sighing, shrugging and smoking a gauloise. .

Re: French cars in films
Ay up!
I settled down to watch "For the love of cars - the Mini" lst night. Now I love those little rascals, scampering hither and thither, putting huge grins on their drivers' faces with their ability to fool you into thinking you're doing Mach 1 when you're only doing 30mph......
It's one of the few things guaranteed to make this grim Yorkshireman smile broadly. Mind you, a BX 14 did that as well. "Corners like a Mini" is the highest praise possible from me towards a car's handling!
Imagine my surprise at seeing that piece of utter gorgeousness known as a DS in there. A late one too, with the glassed in headlamps.

Unfortunately it was in the same room as a Mini Metro! At least there was a 1964 S1 Mini Cooper (with a Downton tuned engine!) between them!

Re: French cars in films
Yet another awful car that the demise of the British car industry can be blamed on. Yes, I know the MG and Turbo ones were fun, but as small cars, compared to what the French (R5, 205, Visa), Germans (Polo), Italians (Fiat 127/8 and Uno) plus lord knows how many small Japanese cars, they were outdated and rubbish really.Hell Razor5543 wrote:Unfortunately it was in the same room as a Mini Metro!

Re: French cars in films
I may have talked my wife into buying an XM as we're watching Ronin at the moment, anyone have a V6 for sale!!! ( we have consumed nearly a bottle of red each so we'll see what she says in the morning!)
By the way why does the badge on the XM change from being in the centre to on the nearside during the car chase? i expect it's been covered before.
