Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Anything to do with Bob Dylan asking Mark Knopfler and the Dire Straits drummer to play on his track Slow Train Coming?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Both Mark Knopfler (who wrote Sultans of Swing) and George Young of Flash and the Pan (who wrote Waiting for a Train), were born in Glasgow.
I noted the Easybeats appeared in the Heardles the other day (inc George Young) with "Friday on my mind" maybe a connection through that.
Probably do need the clue... ah I see now Guitar George.
Regards Neil

and Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene...
George and Harry from the Easybeats/Flash and the Pan are George and Harry in the Sultans of Swing Lyrics!

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Indeed so, well done. Bit of a convoluted journey to get to the answer, but Guitar George and Harry from the lyrics of Sultans of Swing were George Young and Harry Vanda variously of The Easybeats and Flash and the Pan. George Young was also the elder brother of Angus and Malcolm young from AC/DC.

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I blew out on my favoured 60s today but made up for it with an instant 1 sec for the 70s and a 5 secs for the 80s, the rest the usual wipeout!

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
I started the day with an unsurprising virtuoso 1 sec performance on the original, a true classic!!
Sadly then I hurt my nose - I fell flat on my face with a big fat 0 across the board including my favoured 60s which I have never heard before!!

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Falcon 3 Heardle 4
Getting to be the usual. Bagged a quick Brace with the 60's, and 70's in quick time, and netted with the 90's in similar fashion. The 90's a very decent candidate for the spoken introduction.
Bit of a defensive howler on the Original Heardle, talked myself out of even having a guess on the basis that they had been on the heardles too many times recently, but turned out I had got the band right.
Little clue if you need it. This is the place the Band were named after.

Regards Neil

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Original: Fail. Horrible!
60's: 10 seconds but the stupid thing said I was wrong but gave the same thing I typed in.
70's: Second note
80's: Fail. Thought is sounded like Bowie
90's: Instant recognition but couldn't name the song or band.
00's: Completely unheard of.
Alt 00's: As above.
