The 205 has got my heart! I have cleared Kerri's lock up and not even put the car in it yet! The leon hasnt moved for a week. The 205's faults. Petrol guage i can live with. The light switch on the drivers door has lost the wires off the back of it. I can see the wires in the door pillar but cant get a hold of them to reconnect them. The trip counter does reset but needs a few presses of the button to do it. The boot floor is wet. I need to investigate where the wetness is getting in. Boot mat removed to dry out. If that is all which is wrong with a 24 year old car im a happy chappy. Ive bought light grey front seat protectors and orderes tailored car mats to keep the inside clean. The recently fitted budget tyres are utter rubbish, but when i get the 14"gti alloys i will fit decent tyres. Im fitting the alloys more to protect the unmarked factory original wheel trims. They change hands at silly prices, they are rarer than rocking horse poo, so will get stashed in the shed. So to protect the 205 i need to change the leon into something i am happier in. The leon is an ok car to drive and super economical but not really waht i want. What i do want is french, 2.7 v6 diesel auto and i am eying up 3 for sale at the moment [emoji4]

The head says a picasso but I think I'm going to ignore the head!!!!!!!!!! I don't do many miles now so fuel consumption is not a big deal and I get disabled road tax so £500 road tax is immaterial. One in Edinburgh one in Glasgow and one in Manchester same spec and colour, similar ages mileages and price. I will be phoning tomorrow to see if a deal can be done. If I am ever going to do a f-it I'm gonna do a v6, it's now or never.

Very kind of you to offer Davie but no thanks...

I'm sure it'll sell well. They seem to be quite popular...

It needs a tidy up, but was bought as a tidier upper anyway. If i get money back i will be happy. Anyone know if the 2.7 v6 hdi has timing belts or chains and the interval for changing them? My heart has ruled my head and if i dont buy something v6 just now i never will.

V6 is belts David. If it is a (not X7) C5 then it will be the ES9J engine or its vvt later version. Twin cats

ooh enjoy, I went to look at a petrol 406 coupe a few weeks back and I did rather like it.
Headgasket was faulty though so it wasn't bought.
My friend (who the car is for) is off to look at another one tomorrow, it doesn't look or sound bad from the advert.
He seems to be hooked on the ES9 after borrowing mine for a few months but he doesn't much care for Xantias.
Odd as he's had a Bx 4x4 and a petrol XM, neither he or his wife can remember the engine though just that it drank fuel so I expect the TCT.

Have to admit I'd prefer the Coupe to the C6, I took an instant liking to the coupe even though I went to look thinking it wasn't my kind of car. The exact opposite happened with the C6, excitement built up about finally getting a ride in one and when it finally happened the car just didn't do anything for me.

Well i had a windfall a few weeks ago and decided i wasnt going to keep the leon. Ive had a thing for a v6 auto with leather since before i bought the activa. I was very close to buying a c5 v6 petrol last week in London which i could have picked up when i delivered the activa. But i thought, although the 500 quid road tax doesnt bother me as it will be registered disabled, the fuel on a petrol would be heavy. I saw a c6 v6 for sale 60 miles from me but it was over budget and the seller would not budge. So i started looking at c5x7 and pug 407. I very quickly concluded it was actually the pug i wanted, again there was a diesel v6 4 door not far from me in my preferred colour and with leather. It had 120k on the clock. Then i spied the coupe im collecting tomorrow, and that was that. It had to be mine. 56 plate and 80k covered and service history. An enthauiast for an owner who would have actually bought the xantia! The huge bonus is its safety ratings, a 5* rating and 4* child saftey rating. So if the worst happens when my grand kids are in the car should be a better chance. Had i let my head win i would have had a c4 picasso. But if i dont have a v6 now i never will so this itch needed scratched [emoji4]
