I was thinking that knowing the rough area, a strong magnet may just draw it out...

I once lost a diesel pump woodruff key down into the cambelt of an XUD... I was all set for doing a full cambelt job to retrieve it but the strong magnet lured it out of its hiding place and saved the day...

It was akin to fishing...

Experienced boat owners keep a strong magnet (the preferred one is "Seasearcher"; Mum has one rated for 65KG) on a long rope, for when they drop things into the canals. They will also use them to go 'fishing' around locks. Mum has 'caught' several windlasses, and a few other useful items. Give them a good clean up, a new lick of paint, and then sell them at a boat festival.

Having seen my first ever 2nd shelf in a Xantia (David has an original OEM one !) I set about making my own....

The second shelf holds LDS/Wheel Wrench/ToolBox/Compressor/ServiceBook etc. All held with clips or rubber straps.
Made from a spare shelf cut down and recovered with the same carpet from the boot (trunk)
Opens/Lifts with the hatch, easy to remove as I used the mounting clips/hinges from another car.

Very jealous of David's OEM one :)

Now added the Warning triangle and High-Vis vest, looking now for suitable clips to take my fire extinguisher.

ACTIVA problem.

At Donington the other week, the front of the car lent on the first left had corner...it then settled to OK on the next corners. I was a little unhappy with it for the rest of the day, it just did not seem to be working correctly at the front.
Yesterday I washed out and cleaned the front roll corrector (re-oiled/greased) however on a test drive with "violent" swerves the car just does not seem to be happy at resisting "roll/dive" at the front which somewhat unsettles the balance.

What "pre-checks" are needed.
What would be the best list of checks to follow to establish why the SC CAR system "seems" to be either fully or partially working.

Thanks chaps

Its controlled by an electrovalve isn't it. My first instinct would be to check its getting it's signal and that it's not jamming as per the front and rear electro valves on a Hydractive car.
