That may be why I wasn't impressed with it. I didn't try holding it off cos my back wouldn't like that. I may try fitting 4 N guage carriage bogies around the perimeter and run it on them to see if it's better!
(Wheels are 6mm diameter)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I have a couple of petrol powered pressure washers and have used a drain unblocking slinky to very good effect numerous times at work. The main pressure washer is an 8hp powered one. A 'turbo nozzle' on the end of the lance does excellent work on patios and stones as well. I do have Karcher and a Nilfisk 'leccy ones when I can't be ar5ed to set up the petrol ones though

Ah, yes a drain cleaner thing might be a good addition. Thankfully I have had precious little drainage related problems to deal with (and very thankfully never anything akin to Mick's recent err, situation!)
First glance at that bogey Mick, I thought it was a candidate for something needing a good pressure washing treatment!
I think the professional floor cleaners are on castors and just rolled around (and hence adjusted to be at perfect height)

Just looking at engine oil,
This is very cheap:
20 litres, synthetic, ACEA C3, 5W30
£54.95 Free delivery. I've a voucher (expires tomorrow hence looking tonight!) that'd take it down to £52.20
Pretty cheap!
Googling the brand name, gave this place:
https://www.pyemotoroil.co.uk/product/f ... ff6701-20/
Same stuff, £39.99 +£6.99 delivery. Even cheaper!
Browsing their website, found:
https://www.pyemotoroil.co.uk/product/f ... ff6707-20/
Checking elsewhere on their site, they are "up the road" from me in sunny Morecambe and specifically mention collection from their warehouse.
So, in short, eBay's coupon is looking likely to remain unspent as the price seems less fantastic than first thought!

A mate who once worked for the well known seller of European Car Parts once told me of their own brand oil.... "Oil can only be sold down to a certain price, once you drop below that price, you're not paying for oil"
I'd be a bit wary of that Fanfaro stuff if it's going to be used in a daily driver or used hard. I have no doubt that the sample that was submitted for testing passed the various manufacturer specs, but without knowing what those specs actually are, it's a little difficult to quantify them. i.e. do the specs merely require detectable quantities of various additives in the sample, or do they require good performance of the oil after 8000 miles and 9 months use ?
If you can stand him, Project Farm over on Youtube has done various basic oil tests over the years and there's definitely noticeable differences in budget oil brands vs 'well known' oils.

Yes, understand the concerns. My understanding is the "ACEA C3" bit is the key specification to worry about and that corresponds to the low ash type oil needed for a DPF equipped car. It's interesting I remember previously seeing only the term "low SAPs" but more recently the new "mid SAPs" has crept in - not sure if that translates as
"Could be lower but it's not necessary"
Or
"Probably won't clog your DPF quickly enough to be demonstrably linked to use of this oil"
If I buy some it'd be fed to grey 308 (DV6, euro 5), blue 308 (DW10, euro 6) and eventually when fixed 406 Coupe HDi (DW12, euro 3 / 4 ??) which I think all call for ACEA C3.
Project farm is the motor-mouth chap who does very comprehensive reviews but could do with a "dubbed" version. Hmmm. Need to work up enthusiasm for the strange "enjoyable/interesting AND slightly annoying combo" of watching some of his stuff

I'm never sure whether it's better to play him at x 0.5 speed to make his presentation less fraught, or play him at x 1.5 speed to get it over with quickerMattBLancs wrote: 20 Mar 2025, 07:14

As above, what he does is pretty interesting, it's perhaps best enjoyed as: captions on + sound on mute!

A quick trip out with the trailer before work. It's nice when places open early enough to make this possible
