HDi 2.0 8V wont start when cold - FIXED - NOT - YES

well.. car still starting on the button.. but. put lex on just now.. the uneven running is bad at 2000.. at that speed or thereabouts, the fuel pressure difference is all over the place.. + 50 then -50 .. is that likely to be the symptom of the problem? trying to upload vid but at 100mb taking a while

the new pump is behaving well in terms of starting the car, just this unevenness,, is there something I can swap from the old pump to new e.g. regulator?

or do I need to buy a third pump maybe

Is it down on one cylinder or hunting and does it improve when warm?

its just started with the pump change Peter. did nothing else although I guess I could have disturbed something.,.
Seems the same warm or cold... bad at around 2000 rpm..

anyone think the video pressure numbers are odd? can anyone see the video lol.. my linking is often a fail..

thinking to try the old regulator in the new pump, at 530 this eve.. France is looming.. am I likely to make things worse chaps? or is it a simple substitution?

reg changed, the uneven running has gone...

being a pessimist.. is there a chance that the High pressure pump I had on the car was ok, and it was the pressure reg causing the problem with the cold starting? i.e. will it no longer start tomorrow early,.,.

only one way to find out..

just to Brugge, but didn't have enough time this time, need a day and night there really... boat was pleasant and completely empty!

as the car is full still of someone's wine, decided to use bike this week.. cold and slippery but great fun!

I do like a run to Brugge. Nice little town/city thing. Reminds me of St. Albans (where I work).
