Mind you, gold is considered to be the best heat deflector. I mean, McLaren used the stuff to line the engine bay of the McLaren F1 supercar.

well I can now fit in the car (it has a sunroof remember) with a helmet on now I have an extra 1cm headroom. Spacers removed, carpet trimmed and motors secured high with cable ties. You cannot see it has been done.

Amazing how thick the foam is Alasdair...

Almost as thick as my head...

If you've ever driven a Xantia sans carpets you'll know just what a good sound-deadening job it does ;)

Indeed, it was quite a relief to get the carpets back in mine. If an increase in noise bothers you Alasdair there are some good acoustic dampening materials available that are quite thin.

No increase in noise at all....you only need to trim the carpet under the rails and over the under seat cross member....the rest stays in.

I may do the same then eventually. I really don't like the increased height of the leather seats. The cloth Vsx and Activa ones are noticeably lower.

Switched to "track spec" Ferodo pads, put on the Conti Super Sport tyres/wheels to save the Pilots from being destroyed on the track, general checks, oil change and a quick clean up/polish to be ready for the Nats/FCS next weekend

Alasdair, which day is it you're going to the National? I know you told me but my brain is still far from good and remains full of cotton wool and other assorted bits of useless padding where short-term memory should be...

Activa is looking utterly stunning!
