Simon,
On your s.c. diag, the first pipe (5270AE?) is showing as still available.
It's just slightly longer than .....GC, so you may just be able to use that one, and lose the extra bit of length in the coil.
Would guess that the ends (for pressure regulator and security valve) are the same.

That coiled pipe is known-vulnerable to weathering (and therefore rust), so a good reason to wax-protect the underside of the car.

I presume the other two pipes are for different engines though - the pressure regulator on the V6 is located completely differently to any other engine so none of the bends in the pipe would be correct. Trying to reform sharp bends in a pre-formed steel pipe is likely to end in disaster, so I don't think using a different pipe is a viable alternative unless its soft like cuprinol and can be formed easily in situ...

It does look pretty exposed. When I get it fixed I think I'll give it a coat of black hammerite I have in the Garage!

I presume that V6 was RHD ? :) (not sure if it makes a difference)

I looked up the VIN for my long gone 1998 S2 V6 and it came back with the same 5270 GC part number, so it appears to be the same part for S1 V6 and S2 V6, unless it changed much later in the S2 run...

I think I've probably lost about a litre, fortunately the car parks with the engine over the top of that gully drain in the driveway so it all went down the drain instead of spreading out across the whole driveway... Scottish water won't be pleased with me though. Not much I could do about that though, I didn't have any tray low enough to put under the car at that height and you can't get to the pressure regulator bleed screw quickly as you have to remove the air filter assembly to reach it...

I think that the regulator unions (and pipework) did change some time during the S2 run.

Hrm...

I don't suppose you still have a record of the VIN and RPO numbers of the green goblin stickyfinger ? That way I could look up the part in service citroen using those and see for sure if they are still the same...

All I know is: viewtopic.php?t=23276, but I think the change was later than 1998.

Best to slacken off a pipe at the regulator and check the pipe end.
(A similar change of HP pipe union happened with the hydractive suspension regulators, you'll remember.)

Simon's car is a mk1 and definitely has the early type fittings, it is the spare pipe that Alistair may have that is in question.

Manged to get on service.citroen, needed to use capitals in the user ID... anyway 5270GC is the only part number listed for the regulator to security valve for all V6 Hydractive anti sink Xantias - S1 or S2, and during the period where they used the different ends on the pipes to the suspension mounts (which presumably only affect non-hydractive cars anyway?) - although there are different hydractive pipes after a certain date, but I think this is due to the change to the hydractive valves?

Managed to get in too, yesterday.
Have just checked again this morning, and yes, capitals needed for the ID.
Got a captcha check yesterday (for the first time on the site), but not today.

Further to the discussion on the Citroen hydraulic pipe union, these are the pages I have, and was quoting from:

Thanks Richard - I think that settles it, Stickfingers pipe if he can find it, should be compatible. :)
