Neither vent nor complete arch liner purchased as yet - still in my "contemplation phase" for those.

A few questions, not really parts requests so kept off that thread:
  • grey 308 rear parking sensors very intermittent - seems like a loose connection. Any likely candidate places for a look? Guess nearer the bumper end of the system has a hard life
  • also grey 308, key buttons in particular the lock button seems to be loosing functionality. New battery no improvement. I've seen replacement surface mount switches are available. Wondering how feasible swapping these is for some moron with a little soldering iron like me?
==========
  • blue 308, had a few instances of the "Engine fault repair needed". That then disappears again. Think previous discussion it'd had been mooted the battery charge module can play up. Is this located on top of the battery itself?
  • must also get the blue 308's sat nav functional at some point. Still thinks it's somewhere near Wakefield![ Not sure where the GPS module sits in the car (wonder if I'm heading towards it when tackling the CD upgrade/list]

On the cd upgrade front, I need to locate another head unit to cd drive link cable - eBay run dry (and £78 at the dealers seems steep!) so have been looking up 308's being broken for spares and playing "spot the CD changer" on their interior photos!

Usual breaker's approach to cabling seems to crudely hack through it, to need to catch a relatively intact interior to stand a chance!

Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.

That makes good sense :D

Been there once, many years ago, to attend a Windows NT4 training course to gain my MCSE qualification. Windows NT4 was new then so that shows how long ago... Wakefield seemed quite pleasant as I recall...

I stayed in our touring caravan in Nostell Priory - that was very good and much better than a hotel or guest house!

Next job on the blue 308 (with a tip run to warm it up) is to put this into the system:
Toolstation flush
Toolstation flush
Some decent and hopefully "near enough" instructions here:
viewtopic.php?p=627831#p627831

Not 100% success on the funnel sets ** (explanation of why plural shortly) - none of the supplied radiator caps are anything like the 308's header tank thread diameter. Some of the rubber seals sit in the neck of the tank ok, so looking like a slightly precarious "ram it in and hopefully won't drop off half way through!" Method coming up!

That's interesting Matt. Considering I bought mine for the Subaru which it fitted perfectly and then the MX3 which also fitted perfectly I wonder if it is a case of you get what you pay for as yours was half the price of mine? :-D Might be interesting to measure the seal diameters on yours and compare them with mine which I'll go and measure now! :)

Sorry Mick, I've not been clear, it's the "radiator cap" bit that's not got a Peugeot sized option, the seal bits look similar to yours (will measure in a bit) - just cannot lock them on.

Aah right!! The blue and green options in my kit have very very similar sizes but maybe that is where your bits differ. Not sure how to measure them, maybe diameter across the lugs? :)

Yes I think I have an equivalent to the yellow one and the others but mine are all black plastic / steel.

This is nearest and what I'm working with:

I take it then that you don't have an actual radiator cap to fill from, pity cos I think it is much better that way :-D

No, just header tank unfortunately.

Took both radiator hoses off (actually disconnected at engine end of each) and flushed with garden hose in both directions till "the juices ran clear" (as per chicken cooking instructions!!) :-D
