No.. an overboost causes Limp Mode to protect the engine, NOT a direct CUT OUT! Thats a too much dangerious situation for ANY manufacture to design in, so its NOT a normal thing this cutting out, its a Fault of some sort.

Its when ever the measured fuel pressure rises over 950 bar....

Mine (with the box too high) cuts the fuel and the EML light comes on, it's like you've suddenly hit a wall until you get off the gas and back on again. It doesn't go into limp mode

Exactley Mike, HOWEVER, mine will NOT start again untill the ignition has been off for more then 10 seconds!!! Thats what makes it scarey. No, no limp either.

kit fine Taffy..

Pump change last night.. found a £30 unit and thought at that price worth a go..

well.. car started this morning after 2 turns.. (has needed easy start all week - morning and evening) due to the colder weather,

so, big thanks to all who tried to point me in the direction of the pump earlier., :)

car has developed a noticeable 'hunting' on partial throttle now.. i.e. a bit/quite kangeroey accelerating in second, third.. certainly this is connected to the pump change.. any thoughts on this would be appreciated..
Lexia may show something

Pump change, pretty easy.. about 1hour 15 mins without trying really.. can do a quick descript and piccies of the change if useful

:)

lol ;)

got a wine and tobacco run for some old friends.. will grab a few choice Belgium beers for a co worker..

Guess I may as well get some cheap red too, ;)

hope the clunky rear arm bearings don't finally give up.. will be a 500KG load for sure

Envious? Me too. OK for those who live on the south coast :-D

I assume that despite our beloved chancellor's best efforts, it's still worthwhile going across "La Manche" to stock up

very much..
boat is 30£.. I often get train but sometimes the boat makes a nice relaxed cheap alternative.,,

Belgium tobacco is £5 a 50g pouch.. over here it's £17 I think (I have quit though :( )
wine, perfectly drinkable table red for £1.5 a bottle, in box format,,
And I may as well get a full tank, that will be around £70 ...
even speckled hens (from here) are half price, going there to bring them back ..

just worried about the weight as usual.. guessing the weight of the two ladies going, dare not ask them ;)

C5 load seems to be around 500kg, most of that wanted on the back axle,.,

Made me laugh - one of the things I like about the Forum is the humour.

Enjoy the trip. Hope all goes well, & the creaking arm bearings get no worse.
