The Xm SX heating is a good idea, i dont know why they didnt stick t it with the VSX. The auto temp/fan on the VSX is good, but i think i prefer the SXs system.
IMO the GS had a superlative ventilation system although no aircon or sunroof on mine.

I liked having the sunroof in the Xantia and the Accord but all in all prefer the aircon in the C5, although I would have liked the option of hot air to the feet and cold air to the face.
It couldn't have been any worse than the CX :(

I think the SX is altogether a better system, you can vary the temperature infinitly, with the VSX its either 26C or full on, it also has no flap motor so very little to go wrong, the simpler the better for me.

The GS design is almost perfect! I say almost as the heat generated is
scavenged from the tinware around the engine where inevitably there will
be a trace of an oily smell tainting the air despite good maintenance and
thorough fastening of all the ducting etc. In truth it'd be the only real
criticism I could make on my top favourite car. Daft really having an air
cooled engine with all the fins designed to dissipate heat efficiently like a
motorbike engine and then completely surround the engine with a solid
layer of tinware to 'collect' the heat - suppose it was designed to get
the heat into the cabin quicker - not easy off an air cooled engine. I still
chuckle at the grill muffler!!

You also dont have the annoying little fan in the roof on the VSX and above modles. Which unless regularily lubricated gets noisey.
