Re: Classic car Spring/Summer collection-2018
Saw a whole collection of very vintage cars, Model Ts and the like, pottering through parts of North Milton Keynes this afternoon while out on my bike...
Yesterday I saw, in the poring rain, a whole line of vintage open-top sports cars likely out on a rally. They were proceeding from Newport Pagnell towards Northampton. I think it was something like the 'Flying Scotsman' rally if I correctly read the green plates they were all carrying....
I did feel sorry for them.. They all had their canvas hoods up but it was unlikely they were keeping their occupants warm and dry

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer collection-2018
The Flying Scotsman Endurance Rally hit Northumberland today. Armed with compact camera chose one of the picturesque spots on the route. I thought I took more pictures/videos than I did. Thats part of the attraction of modern photography, you dont have to worry about wasting pictures. If you take 100, chances are at least one of them will be a half decent shot. Take 100 in the old days and you would have used up 5 rolls of valuable film, and had to have a visit to the Chemist and wait a few days to receive your blurry shots.
So hot off the presses and without the intervention of Timothy White's here's one from today..its alrightish!
Here's one of the rejects

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer collection-2018
Out on my bike ride today I saw a very early Ford Transit van done up in what is usually H Van territory - a mobile food wagon. It was on a D plate (1966). I thought the earliest ones were on E plates but it was definitely a genuine early MK1. I could tell by the lights - Front indicators on the very early ones had both orange indicator and clear sidelight areas...

I saw an A reg VW Golf Mk1 in silver (but I couldn't see if it was a GTi or not) on the M25 (between 17 and 16).

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer collection-2018
Great find Neil
So when were they first released then?
October 1965 according to Wikipedia...
Which, as plates up to E went from December to December is good for a C-plate one
E ran from December to August 1967 only to bring the change of registration in like with, at the time, peak car sales...

GYH 194 C
Oldclassiccar.co.uk has a table of registration prefixes and when they were first used.
GYH with a C suffix was first used in October 1965, so the sequential 194 would be an early one.
..and YH In those days signified a London registration.
